HUGE! Studio Scale KLINGON Bird of Prey by Dean Eyre for the Wayne Middleton Collection

This is magnificent! Only the third to be completed of these fantastic NICE-N Model kits, artist Dean Eyre truly made this piece look like it was from the Star Trek films! Beautiful!! I can tell you from experience that Wayne Middleton is smiling ear to ear when looking at his newest addition to his collection. Great job Dean!

Studio Scale MKI Viper by Scott Boon for the Wayne Middleton Collection

Scott boon has done it again with this fantastic TOS Studio Viper! Built from the JAWS Models kit (which ARE from the original MSLZ22 Models patterns JAWS now owns), this piece looks amazing. Going into the Wayne Middleton Collection… this piece is sure to shine!

A studio scale Mk1 Viper, for the Wayne Middleton collection – made from the Jaws models castings from Mike Salzos Mk1, looks pretty cool.
Apart from having to cut and re-align each of the engines, she absolutely flew together and was a joy to make. Unlike the MK2, this one isn’t lit as I thought that trying to channel through the solid fuselage and scoop section would be too much of a headache. This is the first model I’ve actually made for a few years now that isn’t lit – it makes em go together considerably faster!

1:20 Viper MK II built by Scott Boon for the Wayne Middleton Collection

Today…. Scott Boon shows his amazing build of the Starbuck Viper for the Wayne Middleton Collection! Outstanding!

Built for the Wayne Middleton Collection, this SS Viper was a joy to build which is testament to the quality of Frank & Moe’s kits, they are simply fantastic and pretty much build themselves!

This is one of the original ones, no 25 out of 100 Starbuck editions before they upgraded the cockpit and introduced clear lighting parts. The Viper is fully lit, with a bit of drilling and some 1/32 backlit dials from a Paragrafix set, it worked pretty well, each gauge is lit and I included some extras too. The battery is in the base and the whole thing is removable for transport.

Happy holidays!!

Scott Boon

Star Trek III – Diorama by Scott Boon for the Wayne Middleton Collection

This diorama is one I have not seen done before today! The face off between Cdr. Kruge’s BOP and the empty Enterprise above the Genesis planet! Still beautiful after her encounter with Khan and Reliant, she sets with her sides and saucer patched with welded plating! This piece even has laser for phaser effects! Outstanding! Or.. in the words of the younger generation… “This thing is SICK!”

DSCI0777

This is my Star Trek III display scene for the Wayne Middleton Collection, featuring the standoff scene just before the Enterprise was set for self destruct.

The brief was simple, make it look beat to shit and not like a shiny piece of plastic. I think I managed to achieve this, with all constant airbrushing of flat white over the many layers of aztecs and decals.

The weathering adds a nice touch and sh...
