AMT BATMOBILE AND 3D PRINTED BATMAN

I used to watch the 1966 television series Batman… as if there was nothing else to watch! I absolutely LOVED the Batmobile, and artist Steve Carricato has just completed this fantastic commission enhancement of this beautiful miniature replica.

Here is my 1/25 1966 Polar Lights Batmobile build/Diorama.
My personal favorite Batmobile!
Here’s what I did…
The model was Airbrushed several fine coats of Tamiya Gloss black. I wet sanded the the paint after each application. I then buffed it to a high gloss shine.
Based on my research(your mileage may vary), I hand painted the pin stripes with Krylon glowing cerise…it was decanted from the spray paint, after first applying a flat white stripe.
The model also features a new beacon made of aluminum to replace the kit’s inaccurate part.

The three rocket launchers are also hand cut aluminum that replaced the toy-like kit supplied parts.
I lowered the suspension of the car to match up to the look of the actual #1 car used during the filming of the series...

I recently became aware of this magical Candy Store in MN. that had all of these wonderful displays… so I invited Clayton Wagner to show it all off… and here is all he shared…

“Here is a picture of the room. If you zoom you can see we have large models of the Star Trek Borg Cube, Starship Enterprise in Space Dock, Star Wars Death Star, Naboo Star Fighter, and Millennium Falcon, just to name a few. They are displayed in our Family’s Candy Store in Jordan Minnesota…which is the largest in Minnesota!”

“It has been a fun project over the course of a couple years. Some of the items are custom. Some purchased off eBay.

Mike Garland built The Dark Astor, Death Star, and the Borg Cube.

Model Ship Masters built the Starship Enterprise.

Mid-county Fabricating built the Space Dock for the USS Enterp...

The kit is the Batman vs Superman 1/25 Batmobile from Moebius Models. I made some modifications on it.

Speaking about the inside of the binnacle:

– 3D parts in the interior: gear stick and the parts between the seats. I still have the 3D models, if needed.
– Scratch build details behind the seats using some metallic grid, metal wire and plastics spare parts.
– Scratch build cradle using sprues, plastics spare parts and Tamiya masking tape.
– Dashboard lighted-up using SMD LEDs. I replaced the plastic screen using some clear plastic. I also add some decals on the screens.
– I scratch build the details in front of the dashboard to cover the hole and around the battery on the top behind the seats. Some magnets and the switch are hidden in those details.

Speaking about the outside of the car:

Batman drives, and pilots the “coolest toys”…. just as Jack Nicholson’s Joker Character stated in the 1989 film BATMAN. Artist Dannon Marsh of OtherWorld Models shows us his builds of these wonderful vehicles used by the famed caped crusader.
