This is the Ed Holt / Alfred Wong 1/24 scale A-Wing. It is a beautiful kit of the little Rebel fighter. I added led to light up the console displays and to show off the Werner Leiss sculpted A-wing pilot. Yellow LED’s also light up the engines. It was all finished using Archive-X paints.

Here’s my 1/24 A-Wing from Ed Holt of MonkeyWorks (Patterned by Alfred Wong). The brown and black are stynylrez primer, and the last shot shows my base coat of archive X. The engines and cockpit will be illuminated, and I have included this a special Death Star Surface base for it to complete the diorama.

Another beautiful studio scale Bird of Prey has been built… this one by artist Simon Mercs of The Kit Factory! This amazing piece has some fantastic effects with actual lasers placed into the wing canons, and the automated wing lift and lowering! I love this! The mechanism used for the wing to raise and lower was developed by another known artist… from Monkey Works… Ed Holt! With permission given by Simon, I edited down the original video Simon filmed to be only 6 minutes long, now showing the model only. It is worth the full watch to see the fantastic wing and laser effects in different lighting that Simon added. This great collaboration of talent truly is magnificent. Nicely done!
This beautiful piece first caught my eye on the Professional Modeling Board …. Resin Illumunati back in August, 2010. I found it very fantastic that Minifig (the artist whose work is shown here) has taken some main paneling off Ed Holt’s – Money Works A-wing KIT (that Alfred Wong patterned) to expose the interior we never get to view! His use of piping fits perfectly to what seems like would truly be beneath those panels! Plus, his paint work is fantastic! A truly wonderful and imaginative build that is now in the hands of a lucky collector…. from professional artist… Minifig!
