This magnificent piece was built and photographed by artist Tobias Richter of The Light Works. Tobias used the Howling Wolf 1/2500 kit (HW-005) that is now sold by JT-Graphics (CLICK HERE to View their Kit). I love how the subtle blue lighting accents the Cylon Raider bays on this huge 29.5 inch model. Plus, if one chose to have a to scale display for BSG, this goes along side their 1/2500 22.5″ Battlestar kit perfectly. This one is beautifully built by Tobias Richter.

This is the Bad Azz 1/48 scale Blackbird from the reimagined BSG series – produced by Jeff Waclawski of JT Graphics. Like all of the Bad Azz kits, this kit is so well engineered, has excellent fit, and requires almost no clean up. It is a dream to build.
I added some photoetched instrument panels, seat belts, and seat ejection handles to the cockpit. I also added some scratch built engine details in the side engine cavities to dress up those areas.
To break up the monochromatic paint scheme, I shaded each panel with dark gray – feathered into black by the opposite edge of the panel.
The kit also comes with a printed card stock section of the Galactica deck – taped off – just like that shown in the BSG episode featuring this unique craft.

Here is the 1/48 Cylon (“Razor”) Raider from the BSG movie titled “Razor”. This excellent kit is produced by Bad Azz models (available from JT Graphics). I changed out the kit’s rotary gun barrels with custom 3D printed versions that I was able to get from JT Graphics. In addition, off the shelf springs were installed on the rotary gun supports; and, a 1/35 scale ammo belt was used on the rotary gun barrels as well.

I bought JT-Graphics Decals for the Nova class. These are not for beginners! They are very thin and can tear quickly if you are not experienced enough to apply decals. When I had already applied some of the decals for the Nova class, I noticed that the decals for the sensor arrangement behind the bridge do not fit into the recess. So I filled it up.
First I always apply a thin layer of matte varnish and then I put the wet decal on it. Then I slide the decal into its final position and pat everything dry. After drying, I apply a thin layer of matte varnish over the decals. This seals everything and protects the decals from UV radiation (fading and yellowing).
