Lawrence J. Geer – WIP – AMT/Ertl – Star Trek: Deep Space 9 – USS Defiant

Here is my USS DEFIANT build progress report:
Yes currently she looks like hell in a hand basket, but it’s working. Internally she is illuminated with sign grade LED’s, 3 rolls of aluminum tape, two rattle cans of black spray for light blocking, two rolls of 1.5 painters tape….
it doesn’t look it currently but a quart of paint thinner, a pint of lacquer thinner, 12 bottles of model master Testors paints, 1 square foot of 1/8” clear acrylic, one yard of translucent vinyl, half a yard of fiberglass screening, prodigious levels of foul language, 2 dozen of X-acto blades, seven different reference materials & crap I no longer can recall. But she’s looking more & more like a ship of the line.

MarioMaker – KORBANTH – Star Wars: A New Hope – ~39″ BLOCKADE RUNNER

After expressing my disappointment with a different Kit Maker’s Blockade Runner kit I had just purchased, my friend suggested I look into the ~39″ Korbanth Kit instead. They made a BR but at a scale that was very large. Looking at their website, the castings look decent enough so I took the plunge. The kit is too large for me, but since the castings were decent, I was OK with the scale.

The kit has clean castings and I was happy with them. One thing that the model needed help on was how it was engineered in its construction, specifically in the engine block which has to connect the tube fuselage in the front of the block and 11 engines in the back. This meant the engine block was going to be heavily stressed having holding on to the front and rear details...

My DL-44 Blaster From Star Wars was started in march of 2016,the stand came a year later. It’s made from cardboard, basswood for the handle, a marble for the scope and two ceramic magnets to keep the power pack in place. It was painted with Testors Buffing Metalizer (gunmetal) A small flashlight was placed in the scope, but just for the photo.

Flying Wings – Composite Art by Warren Zoell

Here is another beautiful composite by Warren Zoell…

Here is my composite image of AMT’s 1/72 scale Northrop XB35 Flying Wing and Testors 1/72 scale Northrop B2 Spirit flying in formation. I figured no one will ever see these two craft flying together in real life so I just had to make a composite of it.

1:72 TESTORS Stealth Fighter by Adam K. Johnson

Once again professional artist Adam K. Johnson (of AJA Models) shows his great skills in realism! Not only is this piece a small model that looks huge, but it is done so well that it very well could be taken as being a “secret” plane that nobody has yet seen. Absolutely beautiful build of the TESTORS kit!
