CROSS-MODELWORX – Korbanth – Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – Studio Scale (1/24) Y-WING, Grey Leader
Here is the Korbanth 1/24 scale Y-wing. It’s built as my interpretation of Grey Leader from Return of the Jedi. I modified the pilot’s helmet to the ROTJ Y-wing helmet and cast the droid in clear resin to resemble the R3 unit that can be seen in the briefing room scene. I wasn’t happy with the squared off torpedo bay so I removed it and 3D printed one using the Dave G files. I enhanced the details by adding extra kit parts. I added lights to the cockpit and engines. It was painted using Archive-X enamels. I’m still waiting on the acrylic for the base.

This is the Bandai 1/5000 Star Destroyer that I converted to the Sith Star Destroyer from “Rise of Skywalker”. I scratch built the axial super laser from parts in my spare parts boxes. I also modified the kit lighting system to run on a battery supply in the stand so there’s no need to remove the top of the model to turn on the lights. To get the darker look of the Sith Fleet I painted the Star destroyer with a grey instead of the typical ‘white’. The Sith Fleet stripes are hand painted and the entire kit was painted with Archive X enamels.

This is the Ed Holt / Alfred Wong 1/24 scale A-Wing. It is a beautiful kit of the little Rebel fighter. I added led to light up the console displays and to show off the Werner Leiss sculpted A-wing pilot. Yellow LED’s also light up the engines. It was all finished using Archive-X paints.

This is a studio scale Y-wing that I recently completed. I bought the kit a few years ago and I believe it is a Galactic Resin Kit. I always loved the markings of “Red Jammer” and thought this kit was a great candidate for it. I was not going for screen accuracy and know some of the details are not correct so I wanted to build it as a ‘what would Red Jammer look like in ESB or ROTJ?’. This is the Korbanth 1/24 scale Tie Bomber. I used Archive-X paints for the build. The base color is ILM Stormy Sea. I added LED’s to light the engines and fiber optics to light the cockpit. The pilot is a modified Falcon 3D rebel pilot with a tie pilot helmet and chest box that I 3D printed.
