Ray continues to build Runners from the Chris Kelley Kit, (Now OUT OF PRODUCTION)! We have the first two he built on display here (including Blue Betty 1!). This is beautiful! Apparently Ray is building 4 more of these!!

Here she is the Alderaan Avenger otherwise known as the Blue Betty 2, my version of the rebel blockade runner from Chris Kelley. Of the few that were made, this one is the third one I’ve built, with three more and a fourth coming from Imperial Replicas who now own the molds. Note the battle in the upper spine hallway and added lighting down the sides… best one so far . The next three are going to be striped red and the fourth in orange…. got my summer cut out for me.

Built for his wife, Stacy, artist Ray Lawson made fantastic work of this award winning model! The interiors are amazing!!

Cooper Sandcrawler built for my wife Stacy. Complete scratch built main floor with an escape pod , droids (micro machine sets) and fully lit ceiling using around 90 lights total. The base was made with brick mortar sand and three bottles of white glue. It dried rock hard.

Built from the amazing Chris Kelley kit by known artist Ray Lawson II (apparently my brother from another mother since we look so much alike)! Ray delivered TWO of these beauties to me last year, the blue one I named the Blue Betty, and the Tantive from ANH. I had been so busy this past year I hadn’t spent any time behind the camera… until now. Ray… here is the Blue Betty you built, and won awards with…. the Tantive will follow soon!

Photos were taken using the Canon Rebel Xti SLR, Blue Screen from eeFX, and utilizing three 500 watt blue lights.

Artist Ray Lawson is making an interior for his Cooper Sandcrawler! With tiny figures as well! Fantastic!

Here’s progress shots of the Sandcrawler for my wife,I’m planning on building the main floor showing the droids,scrap metal and stuff like that, the scene where 3PO wakes up R2,I was able to match the interior roof grid detail using a plastic bread rack. I added details to the side walls and am gonna add parts to both the front and back walls using spare and left over parts from the runners I built and are building.you will be able to view the interior thru both side openings.

“The three foot Brachiosaur figure is the Horizon Vinyl Jurassic Park Maquette copy , which is why the rather placid pose. Using some 1/35th scale Tamiya primordial critters (a crocodile under the fallen tree trunk, an Archyopteryx (bird), and a Oviraptor,  I believe this display to be to scale with each other. Enjoy!”

As you know he built TWO Blockade Runner for the Kuhn Global, Modeler Magic collection last year, followed be a few more he received commissions on. Artist Ray Lawson has done something special for this past July 4th…. with this creative paint scheme and parts bash for the Hover Tank!

Here’s my “May the fourth build” an alternate “digital” scheme on the old MPC Ertl episode 1 ” weedeater ” hover tank. This was my challenge to others on the Star Wars model builders page on Facebook.

Took a few days off and took a few spare parts left over from last years runner builds. Added two guns one on either side of the main gun, and added some gun barrels on a couple other guns as well. As for the paint scheme , it was my first attempt at a digital paint scheme…. using what ever I had in my spray can collection.

Artist Ray Lawson recently acquired this fantastic 32 inch scratch build of the Falcon from Chuck Sides! This piece is beautiful! Also photographed is a paint up by Ray’s wife, artist Stacy Lawson! This post is on overload of fine talents!

This is the totally scratch built 32 inch millennium falcon built by my buddy chuck sides , he is an awesome Star Wars model scratch builder. The more I look at this the more I’m amazed, every piece , every detail was totally built from scratch. And I’m proud to own this and a 1/24th scale x-wing he had built too. ( the 1/6th scale Han Solo was built by my wife Stacy)
