During this very date one year ago I had the great pleasure of showing a studio scale model replica that had eluded the world for decades due to it’s size and complexity to make. Using parts from the fantastic TimeSlip Creations (George Takacs) kit that is still in development today, along with making our own parts that were unavailable back then,… we brought to life the world’s first studio scale replica of the USS Enterprise REFIT as seen in the 1979 film Star Trek The Motion Picture. There were many artists involved in the making of this fine piece, and while the project was lead and paid for by myself (Kurt Kuhn), it was truly artist Dan Grumeretz who made it larger than life, adding in incredible detail and form...

What can I say about this, except WOW! Last May of 2019 we saw the world’s first completed 8.5 foot Studio Scale TMP USS Enterprise NCC-1701 REFIT Replica (which Helios Models made the electronics package for), and today we see this beautiful model replica by Helios Models! The world’s FIRST completed 6 foot Studio Scale USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D Replica of Star Trek The Next Generation! Every detail has been finely tuned on this fantastic model! Daniel Beck and his Father must be elated in finally viewing their creation completed! This had been a long road for them, and it is a pleasure for us to show this here on Modeler Magic! Outstanding work!

I finished my latest build. Well, it is no miniature, but i think you should find this one very interesting.

For this build I had the incredible chance to work with the Original LCARs foil used for Commander Data’s Enterprise 1701-D Console that was used over all Seasons: CLICK HERE to View. We did a 3D Recreation of the station with all the measurements based on this photos: CLICK HERE to View.

So this foil will have from now a very very good new home. Later this Console will be able to control the whole Studio Scale Enteprise 1701-D I’m working on at the moment.

There is so much content on this that we have to show everyone. Sadly, I don’y believe I could ever show how much truly went into building this USS Enterprise REFIT Replica from Star Trek The Motion Picture. The Randy Cooper V2 Star Destroyer Kit is amazing. It is only 5 inches from being studio scale sized with the A New Hope Star Destroyer “Devastator”, and it is an amazing display. Daniel Beck absolutely captured the essence of the Imperial beast with his build of this amazing Star Destroyer! The lighting is fantastic, which is HELIOS Models specialty! I know… I utilize their services! This is beautiful work Daniel!

HELIOS Models & Lighting are well known for their amazing electronic packages. They are so good at what they do that we (Kuhn Global) just had them electronically recreate the entire launch sequence from Star Trek The Motion Picture to go into the very first studio scale replica build completed of the Starship Enterprise REFIT from that film. Artist Daniel Beck, who owns Helios, also shows his great skills in building models as well. This Pegasus is one of them.
