The Third Models – Polar Lights – 1966 BATMAN – 1/25 Batmobile Build/Diorama

Here is my 1/25 1966 Polar Lights Batmobile build/Diorama.
My personal favorite Batmobile!
Here’s what I did…
The model was Airbrushed several fine coats of Tamiya Gloss black. I wet sanded the the paint after each application. I then buffed it to a high gloss shine.
Based on my research(your mileage may vary), I hand painted the pin stripes with Krylon glowing cerise…it was decanted from the spray paint, after first applying a flat white stripe.
The model also features a new beacon made of aluminum to replace the kit’s inaccurate part.

The three rocket launchers are also hand cut aluminum that replaced the toy-like kit supplied parts.
I lowered the suspension of the car to match up to the look of the actual #1 car used during the filming of the series...

The David Romano AMAZING Collection! – Part 1

I have two more rooms with models in them aside from what we are showing here today. The large TU 95, SR -71, and B-2 were built by modelers at Wright-Patterson AFB for early laser research. I purchased them from the spouses of Air Force Engineers who had passed away, and the models were in horrendous shape, requiring untold hours of filling, sanding, painting, and detail work. The wingspans of the B2 and TU 95 are almost 60 inches! Some are die cast, some commissioned, some built by myself, many one of a kind ( the Anaconda APC is all metal commissioned from 5 CGI internet shots. It is 32″ long). The oldest models are 40 years old. There are more to come…
Take Care,
David Romano

Charles King’s AMAZING 1:24 Truck Dock Diorama

Very Impressive work by artist Charles King! The fine details & realism is astounding!

“The building, tarmac, and majority of the small details were scratch built. The trailer is from Italeri. I added scratch built details to it at the front. The forklift is a Dinky toy, which I striped and added all the details you see and repainted it and weathered it.”
