StealthStar Viper

Here is even MORE from the fantastic artist… Pierre Drolet!!…..

When Gary asked me to build the StealthStar, I wanted her to look fast and sporty. I came up with the idea of a hybrid between a Formula 1 race car and a F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter. My only restriction was that I had to use the same cockpit canopy on the Viper Mark VII because it was going to be used on the set to shoot the actors for the close up.

Phoenix Air Force

Here is more amazing work from famed Pierre Drolet…

This aircraft is an upgrade from the Phoenix private jet which turned to a military troop carrier. It’s amazing how a paint job and the addition of guns can dramatically change the look of an aircraft. Caprica did not turn out to be what we had hoped it would be and the need for military aircraft became less of a priority on the TV show.

Vintage Cylon Raider

For BSG Razor, Gary Hutzel asked me to bring back to life the vintage Cylon Raider. Inspired by the original unique flying saucer design from the great Ralph McQuarrie, I didn’t want to go too far out in redesigning the Raider from the original flying saucer design. As a fan of the original BSG TV series, I felt that I had to preserve as much as possible the nostalgic feeling with the redesigned Cylon Raider to keep the fans happy.

Viper MK XIII

When Modeler Magic first opened back in 2008, many artworks and reference from the series and films we all love were shown here, sparking a revolution of reference being released in the world. One of those was the never realized 13th Tribe Viper by Pierre Drolet…SEEN HERE! Since then Pierre has joined our ranks of artists shown rather than the company (ZOIC) we were then showing. Majestically flying next to her armored protector, the Galactica, the Presidents vessel is poised with confidence in it’s role to lead the human race to the thirteenth tribes planet of Earth.

This piece was created using a CG ZOIC Battlestar Galatica photo, along with the photos of the fantastic build of Colonial One by master modeler Douglas Shortes.

This took very little effort and looks as if the entire piece is CG! If you notice… the INTERSUN wording on the upper fuselage is backwards due to my horizontally flipping one of Doug’s photos to match the Galactica’s position and lighting. This to may be changed when time permits, but I thought Doug’s build looked so great with it’s CG counterpart that I just wanted to show it!

13th Tribe Viper MK XIII

Here are a few CG renders of the Viper MK XIII from Battlestar Galactica – The New Series which were originally posted here last December 2008 as a preview of what is to come. Unfortunately, this beautiful ZOIC Viper design was never realized within the New Series.

I plan on having this CG model made into a physical one for proper Gallery representation.
