Clifton Simmons – 1:96 (101.1″ / 256.86cm) USS Enterprise (CV-6).. the 1943 Refit!

I love Naval Ship builds! Especially HUGE builds like this 101.1″ (256.86cm) build! This one by artist Clifton Simmons was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on April 22, 2009 and shows just as well today! This build of the Yorktown-Class USS Enterprise (1943 Refit) is a miniature of a very distinguished ship that many called either “The Big E” or “The Grey Ghost” due to it’s amazing service record during World War II. The actual Naval Ship was built in 1934, launched in 1936, and She became the sixth Aircraft Carrier in the United States Navy. The CV-6 was the seventh U.S. Navy Vessel to carry the name ENTERPRISE. Viewing this model, I can say Clifton captured everything that the original vessel, and her crew, represented…pure excellence. Fantastic work.

The David Romano AMAZING Collection! – Part 1

I have two more rooms with models in them aside from what we are showing here today. The large TU 95, SR -71, and B-2 were built by modelers at Wright-Patterson AFB for early laser research. I purchased them from the spouses of Air Force Engineers who had passed away, and the models were in horrendous shape, requiring untold hours of filling, sanding, painting, and detail work. The wingspans of the B2 and TU 95 are almost 60 inches! Some are die cast, some commissioned, some built by myself, many one of a kind ( the Anaconda APC is all metal commissioned from 5 CGI internet shots. It is 32″ long). The oldest models are 40 years old. There are more to come…
Take Care,
David Romano

Minicraft 1/350 R.M.S. TITANIC by Dae Choi

Artist Dae Choi never disappoints. Today he show us this amazing TITANIC build, from the Minicraft Model Kit. The lighting of this model is superb! I love his use of a background monitor to photograph this piece, which is just as important as the model itself. Nicely done!

Warreen Zoell’s Movo/Corel 1:40 Wappen von Hamburg

Here are some images of Movo/Corel 1/40 scale Wappen von Hamburg. I actually got an ulcerated cornea building this model. But after several visits to the ophthalmologist it’s almost healed. One should always wear goggles especially when working with wood. Lesson learned.
