Collector and Artist Michael Hawes came into this art form like the fast winds of a Hurricane! His contributions have been amazing in not only commissioning amazing artists, and obtaining the wonderful pieces that are now shown in his Star Destroyer-like Gallery, but also starting the fantastic video channel on You Tube of COLLECTION WARS, along with Gabe Estrada. He is helping this art form in keeping it in the eyes of the world, then bringing joy to everyone that has the opportunity to view it all. Just look at some of the newer pieces he has just added.. like the NICE-N Model Designs Studio Scale SLAVE ONE (Built by Mike Salzo!), or the fantastic FULL SIZE Imperial Probe Droid that Mike and his Daughter are shown assembling in the photos! So amazing…I LOVE IT!

Michael Hawes is making dreams come true once again! Here is the story of the Avenger that he is helping come to life!

Six years ago I was able to visit my friend, and artist Marc Elkins. He brought me to his shop area where he showed me his latest progress on the 8 foot (studio scale) Star Destroyer Avenger he was making. He had shown me the initial layout, and footprint of this behemoth model a few years before and I was looking forward to viewing the physical creation. That time had come, and what an amazing site this was to behold… as the Superstructure was now complete and the shape was ominous to view. Marc had already scratch built a 6 foot version of the Avenger (which now resides with Michael Plante), so I was excited to see what he did with this one as well...

Artist/Collector Michael Hawes is back with these amazing life sized IG-88 from The Empire Strikes Back, and the ever popular Tusken Raider as seen in 1977’s Star Wars! Artist Mike Salzo recently completed this amazing scratch built DEATH STAR for the Michael Hawes Collection. Shown here today are photos of the model (taken by Mike Salzo) and also the model on display (taken by Michael Hawes). I am extremely impressed with the surface details Mike placed onto this piece, not to mention the very straight drilled lighting holes. Amazing! I know that Michael Hawes is thrilled with this creation, and he is proud to display this amazing piece created by Mike Salzo.
