This is my 5 foot X-Wing Red 3. It is my first time using an air brush! I have also just finished a second 5 foot X-Wing, which shall be Red 5. I am just finishing the painting on that one. Each X-Wing is made using 1mm thick plastic card. I have also begun making a 2 foot long T-47 Snow Speeder to be in scale with these huge X-Wings! I am putting together a new display as I travel around the U.K. Sci-Fi Shows.

The studio scale Cylon Basestar from the original series of Battlestar Galactica has always been a design I have loved. It has also been a subject that has had some sore spots with some, in trying to get kits released, and keep them available to all. Philip Cocking preferred to build his own….. and he did fantastic work! Philip now has a very large Rag Tag Fleet of his own built collection! A collection that has been displayed in many places, and admired by the original actors and model makers from the 1978 series.
I love when artist’s take on the behemoth projects! This 6 Foot Battlestar Pegasus is sure to place smiles on many faces when they view it! Great work Phil!

These have never been (publicly) identified. There are lots of theories, but who knows if the exact original parts will ever be found.
My client and good friend Phil (“Wombat” over at StudioScaleModelers.com) commissioned me to recreate the original parts as closely as possible.
Starting with my 3D recreation of the Galactica studio miniature’s engine section, I positioned the outlines of the parts to match the photos. I then built them in 3D.
When finished, the parts were exported to STL format and printed. They are now being molded so that castings can be made available.
