Shown here back in 2008, then again in Sept. 2010 after I gave this to Tom DeSanto….. this is a Piece of Galactica History. It is, in fact, the Tom DeSanto / Bryan Singer Continuation Series Colonial Viper that never came to be. This one is officially scaled in 1/24 and named the Mk IV Advanced Colonial Viper.

This piece was built by artist David Martis, which came out very well considering the challenges of the cast parts produced. The story is below…

How this Model Came to Exist…

While in the planning stages, Producer Tom DeSanto had originally contacted Michael Miles Artistry to develop his (DeSanto’s) newly designed “advanced” Viper for the Continuation Series calling it the Mk IV...

Once again this artist impresses me with his pattern and prototyping skills! Master modeler Scott Spicer, along with the assistance of another professional model maker Kobe Lorang, made this master for kits to be sold by TimeSlip Creations. The detail is INCREDIBLE!

This is the master pattern of the Galactica from the new Sci-Fi series, created for Timeslip Creations. This is another extremely detailed Battlestar design from the world of BSG. The basic ship sections and components, the ‘ribs’ and ‘spacers’, were precision laser cut and fitted by Kobe Lorang. Then SRS Prototyping assembled the ribs and spacers into the basic kit components, body engines, etc...

As Blue Squadron tests out their re-designed Viper Mk IV’s in deep space…. each Colonial Pilot suddenly hears a shout from their CAG over their VOX system…. BREAK! BREAK! BREAK!!! In a few seconds they will find out why….

This beautiful piece was created like the old bubble gum trading cards by master artist R.L. Bleecker. Utilizing his build of the Moonbase Models Kit, he made this scene come to life!

Designed for Tom DeSanto, patterns made by Michael Miles and Coby Lorang, then made into a workable kit by Gil Brumana of Moonbase Models, professional modeler R.L. Bleecker joins the ranks of Studio Model Collectors with his own build of the beautiful Galactica Continuation Viper! As usual, his use of weathering is second to none which bring out the subtle Grey paint job to be dynamic! Another beautiful piece from master artist R.L. Bleecker!

Well, it is finally done! Timeslip Creation’s Sci-Fi channel’s Battlestar Galactica model kit in 1/4105 scale. The finished kit will is 13.75″ long and is in scale with ALL of my Battlestar ships. Kit’s are ready to ship. The kit will be about 30 pieces. 16 of them will be turrets! The pattern was done by Coby Lorang and Scott Spicer. The decals will be supplied by JT Graphics.
