R.L. Bleecker (2008) – MSLZ22 Models – BATTLESTAR GALACTICA – Four Studio Scale COLONIAL VIPERS – Built in 2008 for the Kuhn Global Collection

These Colonial Vipers WIP’s were originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on February 27, 2009 and is now updated to today’s showing standard! Built by artist R.L. Bleecker, these four Studio Scale Colonial Vipers were built from the then NEW V2 Studio Scale kit mastered and offered from Mike Salzo (MSLZ22 Models) and artist Mike Reis. This new V2 kit was created to correct the studio scale size and detail that had been lost in the generational shrinkage of resin copies over the years, well away from what was utilized for the ICONS Replicas release so long ago. Mike & Mike did marvelous work in recreating the amazing replicas in kit form.  And.. artist R.L...

R.L. Bleecker – FM Model Co. – Battlestar Galactica – Kuhn Global’s 1:20 Mk II Colonial Viper – Blue Screen by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on March 27, 2009, and is still beautifully displayed here today. Built from the old FM Model Company kit back in 2007, artist R.L. “Bob” Bleecker truly did magnificent work in creating a replica of Starbuck’s ‘dirty’ digital model used in the Ron Moore reimagined TV series. I state ‘dirty’ as this digital model version had seen heavy combat in the series and Bob brought it to life in his replication of a model that did not even exist in the physical world. I can tell you that the younger me (in my Blue Screen photos from 2008 shown today) was impressed with the model back then, and I continue to be so today. Bob even made Starbuck look amazing! I offer a huge thank you to artists R.L...

R.L. Bleecker – Kuhn Global – STAR WARS: The Phantom Menace – Studio Scale – Darth Maul SITH Infiltrator – Blue Screen by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on September 28, 2012 and now updated to today’s showing standard!

This piece’s story is over years! Darth Maul’s SITH Infiltrator! A model that is not seen in many builds around the world,… as it was not a very popular design at the time. For me, I love it! To give credit where it is due for it’s creation, this kit was made by controversial modeler Mike Tait back in 2008 and was released on March 2009. As I loved the design, I snatched one up right away. At that time, I had just opened up a new shop with a few artists involved… one of whom was Robert Bleecker (R.L. Bleecker).. who is a friend of mine...

NICE-N Model Designs 2007 – Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – Studio Scale (1/24) TIE Interceptor Replica by R.L. Bleecker! Blue Screen Photos from 2008 by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on January 19, 2009 and still adorns the Collection here today!! Built by artist R.L. Bleecker back in 2007 from the original studio scale NICE-N Model Designs kit that was patterned by John C., I finally was able to take photos of this amazing studio model replica on March 31, 2008. As with the regular TIE Fighters, being BLUE made it very difficult to photograph in front of my Blue Screen. Nevertheless.. I gave it a go, and here is the result from 12 years ago! I must admit that everyone involved did a magnificent job bring this to life, especially R.L. Bleecker, who truly made this amazing. I am grateful...

Kuhn Global’s – Studio Scale – Closed Wing BLUE 7 X-Wing by R.L. Bleecker – Blue Screen Photos by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

Originally shown here on Modeler Magic 10 years and two days ago (Feb 2, 2019), this beautiful piece was built from cast parts that have original lineage back to the PYRO Models used in 1977’s STAR WARS. Cast obtained from Scott Alexander of Atomic City Models, this piece originally began life as a closed wing version of RED Leader, painted by Scott Alexander himself. I had not seen any closed wing X-Wings made before this time… though there may have been some somewhere. Sadly, Red Leader had a bit of an accident, and then was sent to artist R.L. Bleecker to re-build. Robert took this closed wing X-Wing and made it amazing as he changed the red stripes to blue… just as the original models began life as...

Kuhn Global – ESB Sketchbook Inspired – Imperial Cutter INTRACTIBLE by R.L. Bleecker – Blue Screen Photos by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

About a decade ago, I tasked artist R.L. Bleecker with building this piece. It would be a larger version of a small model he scratch built while in a shop we had running at that time. This model design was inspired by the Joe Johnston and Nilo Rodis-Jamero’s 1980 released book…”The Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook”, and it was of the initial sketch for the Super Star Destroyer EXECUTOR. Being a Veteran of the United States Navy himself, Robert had classified what he built as a “Cutter”… an Imperial Cutter. When I saw what he had created in that smaller model, and he confirmed where his inspiration came from (as I recognized it as well), it was clear a larger version must be built…. and so he did. This one we would name the Imperial Cutter INTRACTIBLE...

SOLD to Michael Kuehner! Kurt Kuhn’s SALZO V-2 Studio Scale X-Wing RED 2 by R.L. Bleecker – Blue Screen Photos by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

When Mike Salzo released the V-2 Studio Scale X-Wing, I was so completely excited that I purchased 3 sets of parts from him immediately! I envisioned a trench scene large enough to have all three studio scale X-Wings within it. This diorama was also to have Vader (with his two Wing-men) in pursuit, and it was to be about 50 feet long, embedded into the floor of the display area that people may walk over it’s heavy glass top. At that time, Modeler Magic was to be opened in Las Vegas. Alas… 2008 was a tragic year on many levels for everyone… and this placed the Modeler Magic Gallery on hold. At that time, Model Maker R.L. Bleecker was doing many amazing works for me, and he took on this beautiful V2 X-Wing...

Colonial War Machine – Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

I was combing through the site recently, coming upon this oldie, but goody from 1/1/2011… and I decided to bump it to the front page.
Kurt Kuhn

****

The Colonial War Machine was stronger than ever, holding off decades of Cylon attacks and protecting it’s twelve Colonies. During an intense Cruise along the outer rim of claimed Cylon Space, a fleet of three Battlestars are suspiciously called home. They had been ramming heads with 12 different Cylon Basestars for the past 3 months. Even though they had dealt the Cylons extreme damage to most of those Basestars, and destroying at least three of them, they suddenly found themselves staring at only debris fields remaining upon the shift of the new day. The Cylons had pulled away, VANISHED!, going back into their claimed space...
