Kuhn Global Blue Screen – (2022) 1:650 Star Trek: Nemesis – Enterprise 1701-E (2007 Cast #001, Incarnation #004) in The Albert Siow Collection

As stated in October 2007, and again in December 2012: This 41 inch model was mastered by Richard Long in 2005-2006. This was the very first cast kit from his patterns. Though it was the first cast in the world of this model kit, it was the third to be built and finished. The first two (Casts #002 and #003) were built and finished by ILM artist John Eblan, under his company banner of “The FX Company”.

What a story this model has… and now, with it’s complete re-build by artist Dan Grumeretz, I hope this to be it’s final representation as a part of the Albert Siow Collection.

As the story goes: The first Kuhn Global build, using Cast #001 (which I refer to as “Incarnation #001), was first painted in 2007 to replicate the USS Enterprise we viewed in Star Trek: Nemesis...

Chris Dobinson 2008 – Battlestar Galactica – Kuhn Global’s 1:32 Mk7 Colonial Viper … Blue Screen Photos by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

The 2003 Ron Moore reboot of Battlestar Galactica took us into a completely different imagined arena of the already fantastic 1978 Glen Larson television show and 1979 film. With this re-imagining came new designs of the ships we all loved. One of those models was from the conceptual art of Eric Chu, then digitally made by the artists at ZOIC, many of whom are very known, and shown here on Modeler Magic. The model shown here today is of the Mk7 Colonial Viper design, and to my knowledge was the first Garage Kit made of it. It is 1:32 and was built up by artist Chris Dobinson. It is beautiful with it’s detailing and weathering. Chris even managed to make the tiny pilot helmet look as if it were lit, when it is not.
Below are my Blue Screen Photos of the 1:32 Mk7 miniature that I took of it ...

Lasse Henning 2009 – STAR WARS – Kuhn Global’s 1:18 Darth Vader TIE Fighter X-1 … Blue Screen Photos by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

In June 2009, famed artist Lasse Henning created an amazing kit in 1/18 scale! Of note: This 1/18 size I have always referred to as “Super Scale”, with anything larger as being “Mega Scale”. When I first came into this art form, one of the first artists I came to appreciate and watch frequently was Lasse Henning. His work inspired nearly everything I have in the collection today that has been created by equally appreciated and fantastic artists world-wide. Lasse has always amazed me with his work, and continues to do so today. I have known him now for two decades (20 years), and my jaw still drops when he creates something new. We had originally shown this beautiful model here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on August 19, 2009...

R.L. Bleecker – FM Model Co. – Battlestar Galactica – Kuhn Global’s 1:20 Mk II Colonial Viper – Blue Screen by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on March 27, 2009, and is still beautifully displayed here today. Built from the old FM Model Company kit back in 2007, artist R.L. “Bob” Bleecker truly did magnificent work in creating a replica of Starbuck’s ‘dirty’ digital model used in the Ron Moore reimagined TV series. I state ‘dirty’ as this digital model version had seen heavy combat in the series and Bob brought it to life in his replication of a model that did not even exist in the physical world. I can tell you that the younger me (in my Blue Screen photos from 2008 shown today) was impressed with the model back then, and I continue to be so today. Bob even made Starbuck look amazing! I offer a huge thank you to artists R.L...

Kuhn Global’s FOUR DeSanto Battlestar Galactica Continuation 1/24 COLONIAL VIPERS – Built by R.L. Bleecker – From the Moonbase Models Kits – Blue Screen by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn) – Composite by Robert Watson!

I love back stories! Tom DeSanto’s “Battlestar Galactica: The Continuation” story really took everyone to excitement. Unfortunately after the senseless Terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York on 9/11/2001, many projects were placed in the closet, where they remain even today. Never-the-less, design work had been created, of which resulted in what you see before you today. These 4 models that were built in mid 2008, and the Robert Watson Composite, were originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on March 24, 2009 and are now being updated to today’s showing standard. I must say that these models have held up marvelously over the past decade of being on display here. The models were built by artist R.L...

R.L. Bleecker – Kuhn Global – STAR WARS: The Phantom Menace – Studio Scale – Darth Maul SITH Infiltrator – Blue Screen by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on September 28, 2012 and now updated to today’s showing standard!

This piece’s story is over years! Darth Maul’s SITH Infiltrator! A model that is not seen in many builds around the world,… as it was not a very popular design at the time. For me, I love it! To give credit where it is due for it’s creation, this kit was made by controversial modeler Mike Tait back in 2008 and was released on March 2009. As I loved the design, I snatched one up right away. At that time, I had just opened up a new shop with a few artists involved… one of whom was Robert Bleecker (R.L. Bleecker).. who is a friend of mine...

NICE-N Model Designs 2007 – Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – Studio Scale (1/24) TIE Interceptor Replica by R.L. Bleecker! Blue Screen Photos from 2008 by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on January 19, 2009 and still adorns the Collection here today!! Built by artist R.L. Bleecker back in 2007 from the original studio scale NICE-N Model Designs kit that was patterned by John C., I finally was able to take photos of this amazing studio model replica on March 31, 2008. As with the regular TIE Fighters, being BLUE made it very difficult to photograph in front of my Blue Screen. Nevertheless.. I gave it a go, and here is the result from 12 years ago! I must admit that everyone involved did a magnificent job bring this to life, especially R.L. Bleecker, who truly made this amazing. I am grateful...

Sovereign Replicas 2006 – Star Trek: Nemesis – 1/650 (41″ / 104.1cm) USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E! (Cast #001, Incarnation #001) 2007 Blue Screen Photos by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This 41 inch model was mastered by Richard Long in 2005-2006, and this was the very first cast kit from his patterns. Though it was the first cast in the world of this model kit, it was the third to be built and finished. The first two to be built (Casts #002 and #003) were finished by ILM artist John Eblan, under his company banner of “The FX Company”. This build (shown here in this posting) was painted to replicate the USS Enterprise we viewed in Star Trek: Nemesis, and at the time was one of the most complex paint schemes of any Enterprise (aside from The Motion Picture Enterprise studio model). The model used for filming the movie was a CG model, and therefore did not exist physically. We were able to obtain the CG files to closely replicate what we saw on film.

Due to unforeseen misha...
