Here is my latest project made from the Anigrand 1/2256 Imperial Star Destroyer kit. For this project I developed a remote support which gives the vessel a hanging effect. The light-up includes about 150 meters of fiber, different versions can be presented thanks to the removable kits (Shuttle Tydirium, Hammerhead corvette, Millennium Falcon). For the paint job I made different panels in gray tones and covered with sails of the final color to give the effects

Here this is the last project I just finished. I worked from the kit Anigrand Mon Calamari 1/2256, I integrated a general light-up in this one plus the internal part in the front with the sheds containing the rebel squadrons. The ship is kept on its base with a remote support that allows to give it a flying effect over the Death Star. The base consists of tiles from the BanDai kit representing the surface of the death star, which measures 80 cm x 40 cm (31 x 15 in), the light-up allows the back-lighting of the base.

Kit Description: Back in 1974, stealth technology was still in its infancy, and the U.S. military was keen to see if radar evasion was even possible. To determine “stealth”‘s feasibilty, DARPA invited all of America’s top aerospace companies to submit proposals for a “low observable” single-seat jet fighter...

As you know, this is the Anigrand kit. The casting was super clean and the guy that makes these sells kits on eBay regularly. I knew it wasn’t studio scale ACCURATE, though I thought it looked good and nobody offers this kit. Once I started researching the ILM model, it became apparent that this was a less than average representation of the original, and I’m just relaying the inconsistency. That stated, I moved forward with TONS of modifications, one of which I turned the ILM prop hole into a missing section of hull,.. kind of like one of the snow speeders I have seen. Anyway, this is the end result, and the best I could do with what I had...

Here is one that was purchased and initially built by artist Richard Long. Unfortunately it met with some challenged transport (no pun intended) and ended up in a few pieces. Once again I asked artist Dan Grumeretz to come to it’s rescue…. and he did! Firstly repairing it’s outer shell, Dan then moved to it’s interior guts, revamping the wiring and lighting. After that it was a matter of painting it up, and reassembling it all. Even more fantastic is the BanDai 1/144 X-Wing and Y-Wing that Dan placed with the Transport to give it more life than before! I LOVE THIS DISPLAY!

I wish to thank Anigrand for initially making all these wonderful Star Wars kits. I would also like to thank artist Richard Long for his work on this initially...

“I built this model up over a period of a few months. The overall paint schema is loosely based on the studio model from Return of the Jedi, with the base in matte acrylic spray painted, with freehand panels, panel lines and weathered patches and overlay created with pastel powders. The model is lit with 3mm LED’s for the engines and 0.25mm and 0.5mm fiber optics.”

For this project I worked from the 1/144 Anigrand kit of the Rebel Transport GR-75. I added some extra light up at the level of containers to highlight the details of the lower part of the transport, the cockpit is also illuminated and the thrusters of course. The paint job was made with several aging techniques to obtain a pronounced wear patina. The base represents the snowy ground of the planet Hoth during the take-off of the transport.

Up for sale is a 1/2256 scale 28″ Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer Avenger class model, fully built and lit with custom base. The model is a 28″ long, about 18″ wide, and sits about 17″ high when mounted on the base. The base is 25″ long and 8″ wide.

All lighting is LED and fiber optic. The Destroyer mounts to the base and is secure, but can be removed. All power is supplied by a wall adapter and lighting for the ship and base is controlled by separate switches located on the base. The red switch controls lights to the Destroyer and the blue switch will power on the spotlights.

This model is highly detailed and was built from a resin kit...
