The FX Company – Randy Cooper Models – Star Wars: A New Hope – 27″ Blockade Runner “TANTIVE IV”

I remember when Randy Cooper created and released this kit. It was, and still is amazing… not to mention it’s size! When the FX Company got their hands on it, and then showed it here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on April 2, 2009, their artists (apprenticing under John Eblan) did a wonderful job in re-creating this Star Wars icon. They even placed lighting in the lase turrets! Nicely done!

The FX Company – Sovereign Replicas – Star Trek: First Contact 1:650 (41″ / 104.1cm) USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on March 28, 2009 and is still amazing today! Film Industry Artist John Eblan, under his former company banner of The FX Company, built this fantastic 41″ 1701-E from the Sovereign Replicas kit that artist Richard Long had patterned and sold back in 2005-2006 . I have a wonderful memory of John and his wife Phyllis coming to visit me at our hotel while my family and I were on vacation at Disney World in 2005. He showed me this wonderful build that he and some apprenticing artists would be working on. It turned out fantastic!

Hector Rosales Collection – Star Trek TNG & DS9 Studio Scale Ferengi Marauder – Cast 1 – Blue Screen Photos by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

Originally shown on MMM back on January 2, 2009 , this piece began it’s life in 2005-2006, photographed by me in 2007, and was sold to the Hector Rosales Collection in December of 2011. I thought this was a good one to show to all of our more recent viewers whom may have missed it back then.

This piece began as a cast from the original Star Trek TNG model patterns given to artist Richard Long to clean up for casting. The shop that sent it to Richard agreed to allow him to cast what he cleaned up, then sell a build to me (Kurt Kuhn) in order to get Richard paid for the venture of doing so instead of incurring that cost themselves...

Kuhn Global Blue Screen – 1:350 Enterprise NX-01 by John Eblan of “The FX Company”

It is hard to believe it was so long ago now, 2004 actually, when Polar Lights first issued the 1:350 NX-01. I was thrilled that they made such a large model. Inasmuch, and the fact my time was challenged, I wanted to make certain it received the best attention to detail… so I called a friend of mine to do the build and effects lighting… an ILM model maker John Eblan. He did amazing work with this piece. Not to mention…. photographing this piece finally in 2007 was a thrill.

QMX #0002 1:850 Enterprise 1701-D from the Michael Plante Collection

When everyone heard that former ILMer John Elban and Crew at QMX was doing the 1701-D, excitement began to stir! Let me state that this model is completely impressive! They engineered it to be quite beautiful in all it’s glory! I wish to thank Michael Plante and QMX for allowing me to show this beast they have created! I would also like to congratulate Michael for getting #0002 in the entire run that will be done! I am informed that #0001 was taken by another VIP collector who shall remain nameless at this time. Rest assured it is in good hands. As for this one…. at a price tag of $9,995.00 …. it came out perfectly! I especially love the shuttle bay interiors they created....
