Here is yet another amazing piece by artist John Simmons… the studio scale “AT-AT” Imperial Walker as seen in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. This looks like it could be the old Master Replicas released model that has been re-painted and weathered to look like those we first saw in the film. Beautiful work.

The comic is only in the early stages and here are few pages I’ve done so far. These will have a credit to you and the Master Replicas in the frame outlines on each page where these are used. On page 3 I have used my Eaglemoss Freighter with some post work… this is where the bulk of the story will take place. I am using my 1/6 scale action figures and my own sets and props to tell the story. I’m still at the building stage for these. This desk is an example.

Utilizing the photos of the “Wedge Antilles” Red/Orange striped Snowspeeder studio model from the 1980 film Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, artist Guy Cowen completely stripped down the scaled replica that Master Replicas released of the Luke Skywalker, Grey striped scaled studio model replica, and beautifully re-painted it to match the “Wedge Antilles” version of the T-47 we all recognize. A beautiful job!
I took the plunge and ended up buying another Master Replicas studio scale USS Enterprise “Signature Edition”. With the Internet I know there are infinite possibilities, and opportunities to find and buy things. I could not find any other Master Replica USS Enterprise replicas for sale except for the 2 that were on eBay recently. When the one I purchased arrived at my home, I carefully unpacked it, as it is truly an unopened MR Enterprise! It is in perfect condition. All the lights are on and blink. The nacelles turn and illuminate like they should. The signature plate with Nimoy’s and Shatner’s signatures is still carefully wrapped in tissue paper. This is truly a wonderful find...

Shown here back on June 1, 2009, then sold to Hector Rosales on September 8, 2011,.. this excellent piece began life as the first Master Replicas studio scale AT-AT release back in 2004! I loved having this piece in the collection. Though not lit, it really showed well. I took Blue Screen Photos of the AT-AT with a blue screen draped table, making the table disappear as I idealized the blue screen effect for all to utilize the model itself in composites. I even removed the mirrored base in one photo just for fun..lol. This is exactly how it looked straight from the packaging. Since it didn’t come with a lighting option for the front head window, I couldn’t resist “Photoshopping” the ominous looking “red glowing color” into the single eye view port as it was seen in The Empire Strikes Back...

Originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on January 29, 2009, this amazing piece began life as a Master Replicas Studio Scale Y-Wing (SEEN HERE). First owned by me (Kurt Kuhn of KUHN GLOBAL), and after some serious consideration of re-painting the MR Y-Wing at that time, I thought it best to make this model look as good as it could be. It was totally taken apart by MTM Studio, then rebuilt and painted to resemble GOLD LEADER in 1977’s Star Wars. It turned out amazingly well. We even added a pilot figure which was not included with the Master Replicas release. After taking Blue Screen Photos of this beautiful piece on September 25, 2008 this piece went on display for 5 years until collector Richard Sung decided he loved it so much that he wanted it in his own collection...

Originally shown here on Modeler Magic back on December 16, 2008, this Master Replicas studio scale USS Enterprise is shown exactly how it came out of the box. These photos are among the very first I had shot back in 2007 utilizing my new (as of back then) blue screen from EEFX. What is wonderful is that you can clearly see the penciled in lines MR placed on it to replicate the original model used in the 1966 series. Because of the lighting I used at that time, the nacelle bussard collectors (with the spin feature) did not show correctly, more showing the opaqueness of the caps themselves instead of the beautiful lighting within.
