We call ourselves Foamtastic-Creations and More, because we love to build models, replicas and well, pretty much anything using EVA Foam, We added the ‘More’ because we have started combining our other skills with our builds, such as polymer clay and spray paint art.

We have built various Star Wars and Star Gate replicas and thought it time we did a Star Trek build. As more and more people are building with EVA foam, we try and pic projects that will stand out among the crowd. That is why we chose to do DS9. This build proved a little harder at first then we had planned...

Slave-1 has always been a favorite of mine and I wanted to try my hand at building one from scratch. Having built several other models from EVA foam (plus it being about the only medium I can afford) I wanted to see if it were possible to do it justice. I made the pattern freehand by studying lots of pictures from the movies and also looking at other peoples builds both from kits and freehand. I like to keep the cost of my builds as low as possible (so does my wife!). So I always try and use things I have laying around the house. The main body of the build is as I said foam, but I had to get inventive with some pieces...
