Just Finished another commission build for Curtis Hughes of the iconic C-57D Space Cruiser of the “FORBIDDEN PLANET”. Curtis wanted the landing gears to retract and the main Vortech Turbine to spin and light, so I picked up the Polar Lights deluxe edition which comes with everything,… lighting kit and retractable landing gears! This was my first out of the box build in decades!! This is an excellent kit for beginner wanting to build a iconic model! Read MoreI finished another commission build of The TOS enterprise for Curtis Hughes. I used the Polar lights lighting kit, which was not as easy at it seemed. I had to solder all of the LED light strips to insure they would make contact. The kit comes with siding pins to make contact for the LED strips, put they fail and come apart once they are glued in. It was very frustrating thinking the lights were ready to be installed in the model, so I ended up taking some of the model apart once I had it together. However, it came out just fine once I modified the lighting system. Price for a commission build of the TOS 1:350 Enterprise Like this one $1200.00 USD and $49...
Ahh the NX-01! This is a design by Doug Drexler that I love! This Polar Lights kit was beautifully built by Steve Carricato of Spacecraft Creation Models for the Collection of Curtis Hughes. Very nice indeed!
I just finished the NX-01 Enterprise 1/350, another commission build for Curtis Hughes Collection! This one took 3 months to complete. I used the aztec decals set to achieve the panel colors . The lighting kit used was from EVANS LIGHTING. Hope you like it!

Read MoreI finished the 1/32 scale Service Command Module for Curtis Hughes. The Model is the Revell model kit with added photo- ected dash boards and control, along with three 1/32 scale resin Astronauts. I added foil and wires to the detailed Module. The Astronauts I sent out to friend to be painted. Curtis wanted his model to be accurate like the real one! The whole commission build took 11 months, 3 weeks to complete ! Hope you like it?

I finished the First Apollo 7 manned flight mission on John Glens 50th anniversary into Space! I built this one for Curtis Hughes. It took two weeks to complete. Scale 1/144 which is very a small model measuring only 18.2” in height. I used tin foil for the SCM (Service Command Module) which gave it that bare metal look. I super detail the command module with styrene to make the radiator’s vents look real on the SCM.

This is a build for collector Curtis Hughes from the Revell Gemini Kit by artist Steve Carricato. This was one unique real space capsules due to the windows giving it more of a ‘piloted’ craft look. Nicely done!
This build reminds me of one of the Astronaut’s story’s….. Richard Gordon of Gemini 11, and Apollo 12. I spent some time with Richard one afternoon as he told story after story of his space flights. On the Gemini 11 mission, along with Pete Conrad, he did a few EVA space-walks to retrieve some sort of nuclear experiment. He told me that he was out and about for hours….watching the Earth rotate beneath him. He told me it was so relaxing that he actually fell asleep on the walk! Conrad had to wake him!
