Kuhn Global Blue Screen – (2022) 1:650 Star Trek: Nemesis – Enterprise 1701-E (2007 Cast #001, Incarnation #004) in The Albert Siow Collection

As stated in October 2007, and again in December 2012: This 41 inch model was mastered by Richard Long in 2005-2006. This was the very first cast kit from his patterns. Though it was the first cast in the world of this model kit, it was the third to be built and finished. The first two (Casts #002 and #003) were built and finished by ILM artist John Eblan, under his company banner of “The FX Company”.

What a story this model has… and now, with it’s complete re-build by artist Dan Grumeretz, I hope this to be it’s final representation as a part of the Albert Siow Collection.

As the story goes: The first Kuhn Global build, using Cast #001 (which I refer to as “Incarnation #001), was first painted in 2007 to replicate the USS Enterprise we viewed in Star Trek: Nemesis...

Stash of Sprues / Kevin Hoppert (2013) – Sovereign Replicas / Richard Long – STAR WARS – Ralph McQuarrie CONCEPT – 1/24 X-Wing

This was a Studio-Scale-ish X-Wing Concept kit from the long “Out of Production” Sovereign Replicas stock. The kit was based on the McQuarrie concept drawings. The cockpit, dashboard, and droid are lit along with flickering lights in the engine. Subtle weathering was applied to finish this elegant version of the X-Wing.

Skidmarks Diecast Collectibles – Wasteland – STAR TREK 1:350 Romulan PATROL Ship

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic as a KIT ALERT back on March 31, 2009! This may not be in production any longer, and I wanted it to be shown as the fantastic piece it is. Beautifully built, and formerly sold by Skidmarks Diecast Collectibles (Fred Doerner) from the Wasteland Model Kit mastered by Richard Long, this piece is awesome! The detail and landing gear option are wonderful!

Just for information as to what it was, here is what was stated back in the former KIT ALERT…

Here are photos of the first release from a new kit maker called Wasteland. The System Patrol Ship has a configuration similar to the BOP but is smaller. It is designed to make planet-fall, in any environment, to deploy troops and supplies.

Wasteland’s 1/350 scale Romulan System Pat...

The FX Company – Sovereign Replicas – Star Trek: First Contact 1:650 (41″ / 104.1cm) USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E

This piece was originally shown here on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on March 28, 2009 and is still amazing today! Film Industry Artist John Eblan, under his former company banner of The FX Company, built this fantastic 41″ 1701-E from the Sovereign Replicas kit that artist Richard Long had patterned and sold back in 2005-2006 . I have a wonderful memory of John and his wife Phyllis coming to visit me at our hotel while my family and I were on vacation at Disney World in 2005. He showed me this wonderful build that he and some apprenticing artists would be working on. It turned out fantastic!

Marc Elkins – MORE Great Photos! – Star Trek: The Motion Picture – Studio Scale – Klingon K’Tinga – Built for the Michael Plante Collection

Artist Marc Elkins recently share with me his photos of the amazing studio scale Klingon K’Tinga as based on Star Trek: The Motion Picture! This beauty was made from the old and fantastic Sovereign Replicas (Richard Long, aka REL) Kit, and was obviously modified to be this amazing miniature replica seen in the photos below. Marc did outstanding work! The first photo in the gallery below (with the K’Tinga Model facing upwards) reminds me of one of the old Magicam photos of the original TMP K’Tinga design being painted by artist Chris Ross (SEEN HERE). I love it! I believe this is the second studio scale K’Tinga replica ever made, but the first to actually be completed like this! Michael Plante must be thrilled to have it in his vast studio scale collection. I am jealous!

Michael Plante Collection – Star Trek: The Motion Picture – Sovereign Replicas Studio Scale (~4 Foot) K’TINGA by Marc Elkins

Here is a beauty by artist Marc Elkins! Built from the old kit provided by artist Richard Long under his then Sovereign Replicas banner, this studio model replica from Star Trek The Motion Picture is beautiful, and very much one of a kind. I believe this to be the first actual completed K’Tinga replica from The Motion Picture. There have been others, yet none that I have viewed completed like this one from that film in studio scale, making it’s value is great in the art form. I love the shuttle bay and effects placed into this piece. Beautiful work by artist Marc Elkins for the Michael Plante Collection. It is great to view his work once more!

Sovereign Replicas 2006 – Star Trek: Nemesis – 1/650 (41″ / 104.1cm) USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E! (Cast #001, Incarnation #001) 2007 Blue Screen Photos by Kuhn Global (Kurt Kuhn)

This 41 inch model was mastered by Richard Long in 2005-2006, and this was the very first cast kit from his patterns. Though it was the first cast in the world of this model kit, it was the third to be built and finished. The first two to be built (Casts #002 and #003) were finished by ILM artist John Eblan, under his company banner of “The FX Company”. This build (shown here in this posting) was painted to replicate the USS Enterprise we viewed in Star Trek: Nemesis, and at the time was one of the most complex paint schemes of any Enterprise (aside from The Motion Picture Enterprise studio model). The model used for filming the movie was a CG model, and therefore did not exist physically. We were able to obtain the CG files to closely replicate what we saw on film.

REL/FM Model Co 1/24 Ralph McQuarrie Concept X-WING by Arnaud Selesneff

Here is my latest project, made from the Richard Long (REL) patterned Frank Cerney (FM Model Co) kit. The X-WING is Ralph McQuarrie 1/24 SCALE. I added a light-up in the cockpit, along with the droid and thrusters. The kit is supported by a removable foot which allows to put it in different positions above the base. The base is composed of a lithography which is magnetized at the base to allow to expose it like a painting.

Thank you,
Arnaud
