A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure of visiting an old friend…. Scott Alexander (AKA Capt. Cardboard). As usual, an evening with him brought me back some years to my youth as I walked through his home with all the Hollywood goodies and creations he has made throughout the years in the Industry. One of which was a kit I had ordered when Scott told me he was going to have this specific model created…. the Orion Space Plane! One of my favorite Science Fiction designs of all time. This newly created model from 2001: ASO is very large at well over 40 inches in length. I placed a computer mouse next to it, but that simply did not show the mass of this beast. Thus the Art Asylum USS Enterprise 1701-E toy was placed next to the parts to show scale… and again it missed the mark of truly showing the hugeness of this kit in the photos. That stated, if you have an Art Asylum Enterprise E, then you may get an idea, but with these phone photos I took…. I cannot tell myself! LOL. Oh well…. let us just note that it is massive! The quality is top notch as well! Crisp casts, as is usual for Scott…. not to mention great accuracy to the original thanks to the assistance of artist Adam Johnson, one of the foremost knowledgeable artists on this subject. Beautiful decals round out this kit. I await the rear end long spires that Scott will mail to me soon, and all in all… this kit is FANTASTIC! Thanks Scott! Great work!
