“NAILING the Kelvin & Tusk” Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

Flying toward the strange anomaly at great speeds was the U.S.S. Kelvin. Along side her…. the newly designed escort class ship…  U.S.S. Tusk with her new experimental nacelles being tested that very day. Before both ships new it, the most massive ship they had ever lay eyes on appeared through the anomaly! While in brief shock, the Starfleet personnel had no time to react as the massive vessel opened fire with superior weaponry! The first volley encapsulating the Kelvin’s saucer section, doing massive damage and killing many. As this happened, the Captain of the Tusk, Captain Wallace, orders the helm to fly between the massive vessel and the Kelvin…. giving the Kelvin’s Captain time to regain composure after the onslaught. Sadly, the Tusk then became the primary target, with explosions happening nearly everywhere on her hull… and taking her new warp, and weapon systems offline. Survival would have no longer been an option would it not have been for the Captain of the Kelvin, who would go aboard the massive vessel, only to die there, thus leaving a new Captain in his place… George Kirk. Gallantly sacrificing his life to save both crews lives by ramming the massive vessel with the now crew abandoned U.S.S. Kelvin, this became a pivotal point in the new history of Starfleet…. and sealed future fate of the unknown massive vessel that attacked them that day.

This piece was done from the fantastic scratch design of talented modeler Gary Wallace (seen HERE), and an actual screen capture from the Blue Ray disc of STAR TREK.
