KIT OUT OF PRODUCTION

Last week I spoke with master modeler Richard Long (of the famed Sovereign Replicas) about a small Star Trek model he stated he was going to make, and show on the Resin Illuminati Modeling Board. It was a design from book cover…. and when he showed it, I got extremely excited! It was so small and sleek… I just new it would be something to see! Well… a week later and he has made it into a 1:350 kit for all to have! The Starship Modeler Store will be carrying these beautiful kits EXCLUSIVELY!

This ship first caught my eye when I saw the picture from cover art for a Star Trek novel.  With the help of the ship’s designer, I scratch-built this out of poplar, styrene and bondo to make a master that was molded in silicone, then cast in resin. I did something different this time with the decals by using a snap shot of an office building taken at night to make the window decals for the model, giving  the windows the appearance of inner detail including chairs, tables and even plants.

Model is 5.75″ long.
