Cylon Raider Model W/ Full Lighting

& Mounting Armatures

This is a model of the Cylon Raider as seen in the classic 1978 Battlestar Galactica TV series. The model is made from the Monogram kit and heavily modified. This is the exact model you are bidding on.

You get everything shown in the pictures.

The model has a 10.5″ wingspan, full LED lighting including the “headlights”, engines and even the underside lights (controlled by a separate switch) which were indeed on some of the original miniatures (you can see these lights when the raiders fly overhead as they attack Caprica).

The model’s lights are supplied by two AAA alkaline cells (not included due to shipping regulations) and switches contained under the cockpit canopy. The canopy is just held in place with magnets. Lift the front of the canopy to access the batteries and 2 switches.

The model also has the ability to be mounted using machined aluminum armatures on all four points (top, bottom, front and rear) as per the original visual effects filming miniatures! The armatures accept M6X1,0 threaded rod, often found on some music stands (I often used Cymbal Stands to display the model)

The included stand has the plastic base that came with the kit, painted silver, but I have made a specially machined solid aluminum rod that can slide into the model’s armature mounting points (all four of them!) for display on your desk should you choose not to use a cymbal stand as I did!

Some other details were added to the model that were not included in the original Monogram kit, such as the details on the sides of the cockpit section and I have thinned the wings down to more closely match the original studio miniatures.

This model is as close as you can get to a replica of the studio models as can be built from a Monogram kit!
