The Studio Scale TIE Bomber was kit-bashed with all of the actual vintage parts in late 2007. It was my first studio-scale build, getting back into the building side of the hobby after a long time on the collection-side. Rather than simply mounting on a Pana-vise, or rod equivalent, the Gantry was scratch-built over 2007-2008 and features a free-hanging custom mount hinge that pulls the TIE Bomber up into the gantry. The hinge is wrapped with Leopold and Morser Karl parts as a tribute to the vintage kits. The Gantry itself is custom-mounted through the heavy acrylic case, making the upper portion fully freely suspended, with the TIE Bomber fully removable for travel. The partial Death Star hanger wall was custom built and casted in resin, with custom hand-cut different faceplates.
