This (Golden Voyage of Sinbad) Kali model was purchased from Monsters in Motion almost 30 years ago. It’s been sitting there collecting dust and I finally got around to work on it. The body parts and base are resin while the hands are die-cast. I felt the base was outdated and decided to have black acrylic instead. In the movie it was never clear to me if the statue was bronze or stone. In the end, I made it a little bit of each so it’s stony bronze. Overall, it’s a fun kit to build, and even more fun to paint, since it’s so forgiving if you mess it up.
