Gentlemen, I have the pleasure to present you my paint job on a DeAgostini Millennium Falcon for a customer named Paul Schach, who became a close friend. Paul wanted his baby paint a little bit more contrasted than the original model. I improved the replica by dremeling all the laser impacts and by adding resin figures in the cockpit. Purists and Empire sympathizers may say the figures characters are those from Star Wars ANH and not ESB from this Millennium comes. As the customer would reply, it’s Star Wars anyway, and if there are windows on the cockpit, it is to prevent air leaking!
Concerning the paint, I used Tamiya spray AS 16 for the base color and added yellow to get a grey/beige color, but not as yellow as is the original model today. Acrylic paints and powders were used to age the surfaces. During the work on the bottom face, I found the paint scheme is different from the above. I ask myself if two persons in fact painted the model.
I take fun to to this and I proud to have satisfied the expectations of my friend and customer Paul !
Oh… the figures are a little bit too small too ! But they do the job !
Regards,
JM
