Adding to his impressive arsenal of industry artworks, Pierre continues to shine! Beautiful works!!
Vintage Cylon Centurion I was pretty excited when Gary Hutzel asked me to build and redesign the original Cylon Centurion for Razor. Once again my goal was not to reinvent the wheel but create something that a BSG fan like myself would like to see. In the original BSG TV series it was obvious that the Cylon was a man in a robot costume. The new redesigned Cylon Centurion was a full CGI 3D model, and this time the MAN in the robot costume was replaced by a metal skeleton frame and hydraulic pipes. I also wanted to give him an imposing 6’5” tall and menacing looking by keeping iconic features distinctive of the Cylon Centurion...
Here is even MORE from the fantastic artist… Pierre Drolet!!…..
When Gary asked me to build the StealthStar, I wanted her to look fast and sporty. I came up with the idea of a hybrid between a Formula 1 race car and a F-117 Nighthawk Stealth Fighter. My only restriction was that I had to use the same cockpit canopy on the Viper Mark VII because it was going to be used on the set to shoot the actors for the close up.

For BSG Razor, Gary Hutzel asked me to bring back to life the vintage Cylon Raider. Inspired by the original unique flying saucer design from the great Ralph McQuarrie, I didn’t want to go too far out in redesigning the Raider from the original flying saucer design. As a fan of the original BSG TV series, I felt that I had to preserve as much as possible the nostalgic feeling with the redesigned Cylon Raider to keep the fans happy.

When Modeler Magic first opened back in 2008, many artworks and reference from the series and films we all love were shown here, sparking a revolution of reference being released in the world. One of those was the never realized 13th Tribe Viper by Pierre Drolet…SEEN HERE! Since then Pierre has joined our ranks of artists shown rather than the company (ZOIC) we were then showing. Here are Pierre’s renders of his build…
For those who have followed the show, remember at the end of season three when Starbuck died and came back mysteriously from the dead for season four? (I didn’t get that part either) Well, this weird looking Viper was suppose to be the one Starbuck flew back to the colony with...

After receiving an email from Frank Winspur of MOEBIUS MODELS asking if I had access to reference of the MK VII Landing Gear, I immediately called a few people that always come through. Frank Cerney, Morton Moeslund and Jared Bronson. Frank and Moe had the CG model renders (designed by Eric Chu) for the gear, while Jared Bronson (of SpaceMind Modeler) came through with these photos of the full sized prop used for the movies and series Battlestar Galactica. The photos were taken at the auction. All the reference material then went to industry famed master artist Gary Kerr to blueprint for the kit...
These beautiful photos were contributed by Jared Bronson (of Spacemind Modeler) to be shown here in their full glory. The photos were taken while these filming props were being auctioned by the studios. A lucky few now own them! Fear not, however. We intend on having FULL SIZED props built for the Gallery as well.
Thank you Jared for sharing these wonderful photos with the world. It is people like you who will forward the art form with reference for a more open creative world.
