Colonial War Machine – Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

I was combing through the site recently, coming upon this oldie, but goody from 1/1/2011… and I decided to bump it to the front page.

The Colonial War Machine was stronger than ever, holding off decades of Cylon attacks and protecting it’s twelve Colonies. During an intense Cruise along the outer rim of claimed Cylon Space, a fleet of three Battlestars are suspiciously called home. They had been ramming heads with 12 different Cylon Basestars for the past 3 months. Even though they had dealt the Cylons extreme damage to most of those Basestars, and destroying at least three of them, they suddenly found themselves staring at only debris fields remaining upon the shift of the new day. The Cylons had pulled away, VANISHED!, going back into their claimed space...

Pursuit of Red Leader – Darth Vader’s POV – Composite by R.L. Bleecker

Artist R.L. Bleecker has returned with this magnificent POV Composite featuring Darth Vader as he pursues Red Leader, only to kill him a few seconds later. The beauty of this piece is fantastic. This could have been the view we never got to see in Star Wars! Not only is the composite great, but what was used in it as well! The studio model of Red Leader seen in this piece is that which R.L. Bleecker personally built for the Kuhn Global/Modeler Magic Collection! The Blue Screen photos of that fine piece can be seen HERE! I always welcome the artwork of this very accomplished artist and look forward to all he does!

1:350 Botany Bay by R.L. Bleecker

Artist R.L. Bleecker came out of retirement when one of our viewers at NBC/Universal contacted him specifically to build the Botany Bay that would go along side his Master Replicas Enterprise 1701. He enjoyed Robert Leslie’s work on other pieces and new he would be perfect for the job. Building from the kit that started life as a pattern from Richard Long, Robert took this piece and really made it shine, adding meticulous details such as brass in the rear fins. His aging and space hit damage is absolutely stunning. It is great to see him back in action!

SOLD! HUGE! 1:24 B-Wing by Marc Elkins! Now in the Richard Sung Collection!

SOLD!! June 2013

Now in the Richard Sung Collection!

***************

Larger than it’s studio scale cousin, THIS spectacular (31 inch) piece went through the hands of a few artists. Industry known artist R.L. Bleecker first started on this piece years ago, and upon his retirement from the art form this piece was transferred over to famed artist Marc Elkins. It is a shame, but sadly during very poor transit care, the great work R.L. Bleecker did to it originally (other than mount placements) was lost as it had completely broken into the pieces it started as. Therefore this is an entirely NEW build from the same parts. Marc’s amazing use of paint on this piece really makes it shine...

1:24 B-Wing by Marc Elkins for the Kuhn Global / Modeler Magic Collection

Originally started by artist R.L. Bleecker, then transferred to artist Marc Elkins, this piece ended up breaking apart during transport and has to be completely re-done by Marc to be this fantastic piece you see here today. Sadly, the only part of the now retired R.L. Bleecker’s work that survived were the blue/grey stripes…which Marc was able to keep on it. This piece is absolutely amazing! Marc has outdone himself yet again with turning a model into something that very well could have been a fill sized piece, shrunk down! The detail and weathering are fantastic! I love how Marc made it look as if the paint was worn down to the metal in several places on this build...

This piece was created, then gave inspiration to be displayed in a large display featuring the Battlestar Pegasus from the original 1979 series. The display was placed on indefinite hold and this ended up being the only piece made...

RED LEADER – Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

Here is a composite using the fantastic Studio Red Leader X-Wing by R.L. Bleecker, and the giant 1:18 Darth Vader X-1 TIE Fighter in the Last Battle scene where Red Leader finishes his trench run on the attacking Death Star, only to be destroyed by Darth Vader a few seconds later. A dramatic pivot point of the story, placing Luke in charge of the final attack to destroy the Death Star before it destroys the Rebel Base on the fourth moon of Yavin.
