Years in the making, the huge Enterprise beastie is finally complete! Artist Dan Grumertez did this piece absolute justice as he brought it to life over the last 6 months. He took painstaking care to make sure everything was where it needed to be… including the individually numbered life boats on the hull (of which are the only decals used on this build)! Everything was paint! He painted layers of paneling to achieve the effect that was on the original 6 foot filming model, utilizing colors provided to me by Rick Sternbach for another build we are doing of which he was involved in creating. Dan used LED technology, providing even light throughout the model. This piece was made for the ages with a metal armature holding up it’s nacelles and heavy head...

Artist Dan Grumeretz is doing magnificent work on recreating the TNG 6 foot studio model paint job on this 40 inch Enterprise 1701-D. There were differences in this cast from the actual 6 foot studio model of which he worked well with, changing a few cast details, then incorporating the FOUR levels of paint paneling to fit this cast. Dan studied the 6 foot model paint scheme very closely to get these patterns correct. Like I stated, there were minor differences in this cast from the cast configuration of the 6 foot studio model, so he fit it as well as possible to recreate the 6 foot beast in this just under four foot version. Other than the twin red vinyl stripes going down the spine, all you see on this is paint, even the lettered markings…. NO DECALS were used...

When Richard Long began his pattern work on this amazing model years ago, I felt lucky to be on the list whom would get this piece. Today, I know I am lucky to have one as only 3 were made according to Richard, and what you see here is number 1 of those 3 made. After Dana Diana (DANAMAGIC) laid up the fiberglass for this piece, (also casting the resin pieces needed from Richard’s patterns), Richard then a basic build and paint up of it in time to be seen at 2013’s Wonderfest. After it’s successful debut, Richard brought it home and I assigned it to artist Dan Grumeretz to continue work on it, adding the lighting, windows, extra details and painted markings. After a slight break from this project in order to finish the Studio Tydirum and Studio Defiant, Dan Grumeretz is back at the huge 1:650 Enterprise D build (which I was going to label as YAMATO, but decided that we would honor the Enterprise yet another time.). Having fit the entire project together, with the armature cut to fit precisely, some details refined to the GENERATIONS Film model, and the lighting ready to go, Dan has started bringing the piece together with the layers of paint needed on this piece. EVERYTHING you see in these photos is paint… Markings and all… NO DECALS!! The static copper nacelle effect is being tested as you can see in one shot. When the entire ridge section is completed…...

Years ago, when artist Richard Long told me he wanted to make the Studio Scale Defiant, I went admittedly crazy with the chance to get that build from him! Today… this build has come to reality with Richards magical pattern making skills! I love this! Due to time constraints for Richards work, we decided to move the Defiant from Richards over packed plate after he painted the hull. It was already made beautiful with Richard amazing skills, and now needed proper lighting. This is where Dan Grumeretz stepped in to complete this fantastic piece. Dan placed in a solid armature, even though the model weighs very little, then added lighting from HYPERDYNE LABS. The windows were drilled out, with acrylic rods added for even distribution of the lighting...

Collector Albert Siow received his Titan M&M 1000 scale Enterprise 1701-E just a few days ago and wanted to show his great impressions of this masterful kit that was patterned by Richard Long! They did a great job!

The Studio Scale Tydirium Kit began life with artist Niel Ellis, transferring to artist Richard Long to eventually be kitted and now sold through NICE-N Models. Three of these ended up in Dan Grumeretz’s hands and two of them are being built for the collections of both Michael Plante and the Kuhn Global/Modeler Magic Collection! The one you see in the video is the Kuhn Global build. The Plante build will feature a full cockpit interior and landing gear that emerges and retracts with the wings folding up or down. Dan Grumertez had nailed the look of this replica to the original. The lighting you see in the video is actually test lighting for the lighting which will be installed by Dan from HYPERDYNE. Even the proper KOOL SHADE was used for the front intake! Outstanding!
