Inspired by the fantastic fighter flying game Crimson Skies, master modeler Dieter Bihlmaier again shows us his unlimited talents in the fantasy scratch model making realm! This piece is perfect to what Crimson Skies was all about and his scratch build of it is his usual fantastic style! Another masterpiece from Germany’s professional scratch modeler Dieter Bihlmaier!!

Today I have a few pictures from my CRIMSON SKIES ( an old video game ) inspired project. The plane is scratch build from parts of several older unused kits. The scale is 1:32.The figure is mastered by John Rosengrant and available at Eagle Editions.

I build with pleasure the “what if” projects because it is a great way to try out newer tech...

I love military fighters. The A-10 is one of my favorites! And talented modeler Robin Moore did this fighter model justice with his subtle weathering and markings placements! Just beautiful!

Using a toy he bought from Toys R Us, master modeler Barry Murray once again shows us that toys are not always pieces that cannot be made to be accurate! This F-22 was built for GI Joe figures! And Barry re-sized the pilot, and gave it an awesome paint job to be a beautiful, and HUGE, 1:32 Fighter!

This beautiful build had my jaw dropping when I viewed it for the first time. So much so that I contacted the artist immediately to request to show it here. Ryan C. is the artist of the beautiful piece. His painting of this plane we all so well know brings it to life! A fantastic piece from artist Ryan C.!

In commemoration of the Apollo 11 Moon landing 40 years ago, master artist RIDER built and painted this masterpiece of an Apollo Astronaut on the Moon from the Revell kit. When I first viewed this piece I could not stop looking at it because it had brought back so many memories of the program in the sixties and seventies that lead humanity to finally step off this world… and onto another! A beautiful piece by RIDER!

I was only three years old at the time, but still remember Neil Armstrong heading down the ladder and placing the first known human footprint on the Moon. It was July 20, 1969…. and the world was watching with it’s breath held.

This is to honor all that participated in mankind’s efforts to get to the moon and beyond. It wasn’t ONLY an effort of the United States, but of several countries genius that brought Mankind into space… and eventually onto another world!

Here you will view photos, in order of their happening to the best of my knowledge. From the choosing of Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin Eugene “Buzz” Aldrin, through their training and launch to their eventual landing on the moon. Even a conversation with the then U.S...

“HOUSTON…. WE HAVE A PROBLEM!”

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, professional modeler Chris Ford did this joking diorama of the EAGLE’s Jettison Pod after a mishap. Notice Astronaut Neil Armstrong with his palm to his helmet probably saying alll the stuff he couldn’t say on VOX! Of course Astronaut “Buzz” Aldrin was not in the LEM’s cabin when it malfunctioned, but off somewhere in the distance. However… here is a disclaimer****NO ASTRONAUTS WERE HURT IN THIS DIORAMA****. I can’t imagine what Michael Collins would be thinking if this had happened!! Then again… it is a great thing we take so many precautions with our Astronauts safety. They are our heroes, and our future after all! A beautiful and amusing homage to the first men on the moon by Chris Ford!

The master of dioramas is back with this beautiful 1:24 display of P-51’s and their flight crews! Built from both Trumpeter and Airfix kits, professional modeler Stefan Hacker once again shows us that size matters not in modeling! Even his ground level photography is impressive! Outstanding work!
