Korbanth SUPER STAR DESTROYER built by Paul Nyul

This piece was originally shown on Modelers Miniatures & Magic back on April 3, 2011… and I felt it a great build. Enough so to refresh it to the front page!

Australian artist Paul Nyul is back with this beautiful build of the KORBANTH offered Super Star Destroyer! I can never get enough of the Star Destroyer, and Paul very much knows the ‘look’ these predators must have to achieve the terror they place in the hearts of those they dominate. The detail on this piece is stunning! Nicely done.. again by artist Paul Nyul!

Matt Craig’s 38 Inch Korbanth Super Star Destroyer

I have the great pleasure of introducing another fantastic artist… from Australia… artist Matt Craig! Showing his first piece today, he has decided to show the 38 inch Super Star Destroyer that he built from the KORBANTH Kit. It’s kit seller, Randy Johnson stated to Matt that it is one of the best he has seen built to date! It certainly is a fantastic site to behold!

This is what artist Matt Craig has to tell of his creation….

Major modifications were:

  • Thinning the brim trenches to bring the upper and lower hulls closer together
  • Completely rebuilding the six ‘steering’ engines (3 per side)
  • Scratch building a new bridge structure using a micro machines Star Destroyer bridge as a base and adding styrene card, photo-etch and Swarovski crystals (sensor domes)
  • Re-aligning all the super-str...

1:8000 Super Star Destroyer scratch build by Eunsung Lee & Moo Yong Jung (LES & R2)

I have the great pleasure of introducing another two great artists to this Gallery…. Mr. Eunsung Lee and Mr. Moo Yong Jung (known as the team LES & R2)!  I have been admiring their work on this fantastic piece for some time… and now they are ready to show it here. Notice all the fine details placed into this fantastic hand crafted piece. I absolutely love the base this Team made for this piece! It is a work of art in itself! Brilliant! It fits right in with the great SSD builds we have previously shown here. I am very much looking forward to showing more of  their works here in the near future!

18 Inch Super Star Destroyer – Scratch & Bash by Clifton Simmons

Most everyone knows this artists talents in his fantastic builds of Historic Navy Warships. Now we have the honor of viewing his Science Fiction side! Professional Model Artist Clifton Simmons built this piece from scratch and bashed kits parts back in 2005 to create this beautiful SSD. I cannot believe all the detail that went into this piece considering how large the SSD’s are as opposed to how small Clifton built this model! It looks much larger than it is! I love when artists can detail the ultra tiny… it makes all the difference when making a small model look HUGE!! Really, for me, the only thing that gives away how small this model actually is… is Clifton’s thumb that appears in a few of the photos while holding the model! A beautiful job!
