1:72 Clone Wars Y-Wing built by Dean Dymerski

Here is another great build by professional modeler Dean Dymerski! Built from a pattern created by Sovereign Replicas, Dean turned this small beauty into something incredible from the outstanding television series Star Wars – The Clone Wars! If I didn’t know better, I would swear this model to be about two feet long! However, it is really about 7-9 inches! An outstanding build from an outstanding build artist… and pattern maker!

“FULL Throttle” Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

We’re going in… we’re going in FULL THROTTLE! That ought to keep those fighters off our backs!” Luke Sywalker

And so they did… and so here replicated with the fantastic works from R.L. Bleecker and Richard Long. Utilizing the Blue Screen photos of each X-wing build (Red 5, Red 2, and Red 3), plus the fantastic background created by master model maker Rick Ingalsbe, I was able to make this composite.

“Last Hope” Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

Time is crucial for the Rebels on the moon of Yavin as the Death Star clears the planet to destroy them. Nearly the entire fighting force the Rebels have sent now destroyed, their last hope of survival remains on these three pilots… Luke, Biggs and Wedge.

Here you see Biggs’s RED 3 in the center with Luke flying on his upper starboard side in RED 5, with Wedge a bit further, and higher away to Biggs’s port side flying RED 2…. getting ready for their last trench run to destroy the massive Death Star!

“We’re going in… we’re going in full throttle! That ought to keep those fighters off our backs!”… Luke Skywalker

All three studio scale X-Wing models were from various Mike Salzo patterns and are very close to exact replicas of the A New Hope studio models used in filming.

1:350 K’Tinga built by Marc Elkins

Built from the fantastic 1:350 Sovereign Replicas kit mastered by Richard Long, professional modeler Marc Elkins made this piece into a fine miniature for any collection! His paneling and lighting really push this into the filming miniature realm… and if there were something to film of that genre currently… this would be the model to use!

“Tydirium” Composite Art by Kurt Kuhn (Kuhn Global)

This piece turned out so well that I decided to do a composite for it.

Utilizing the fantastic photo Richard Long showed of the kit that he produced (which is now owned by Clay Brown), I immediately had a vision in my head of the Tydirium leaving the Death Star II to go down to the planet surface. This took very little manipulating to make it look as if it were from Return of the Jedi.

“RED 3” Composite Art by Robert Watson

Utilizing the blue screen photos of the Salzo V2 X-wing kit build that Richard Long (of Sovereign Replicas) did for the collection as RED 3, (Biggs Darklighter’s fighter from Star Wars A New Hope), my friend Robert Watson made this piece shine with his Composite art! It should be noted that this is the first studio x-wing replica to be painted like RED 3 as it was seen in Star Wars – A new Hope.
