I wanted to build something a little different (for me) and I loved the starship designs of John Eaves such as the ECS Endeavor, Horizon and Fortunate.

The inspiration came from a small lighting connector I was using to hook up some fluorescent lights. The connector looked like a good shape for a cargo container...

Description: Discovery acrylic stands Designed for the new Moebius 2001 Discovery XD-1 model, these acrylic stands are made from 3/16” clear acrylic and are made to support the model with more stability than the simple kit stands. The footprint is larger than the kit part and this alone adds more stability to the model. The foot measures 4”x4” square and each stand is 6” high. Comes as a set of three stands. One of my favorite 50’s “B” sci-fi films was “KRONOS”.

I scratch built this model out of 1/8″ styrene and added internal lights to the neck and middle force field. It was painted with Tamiya acrylics and weathered with the airbrush.

This will also be at the JerseyFest show in September 2017!

When I saw the sketch for the Mazarite Defense ship that was done for the ENTERPRISE episode “Fallen Heroes” I knew I had to build it. The design was not used on the episode but it was still a great design. Working from only the B&W sketch, I had to take some creative license to make a working model of this asymmetrical design. “An update on the “Hover Tank” model. I built a new lighted base for the build that I wanted to share. The lighting is built into the base and the groundwork was done with an “otherworldly” look. The model can be removed from the base and displayed separately. The stream was done with Woodland Scenics Water and Water Effects products.”

Pegasus  “Mercury 9”  Diorama

I wanted to do something extra with this excellent kit so I decided to make a full diorama utilizing the parts from the kit as a basis.

I felt it would be fun to expand the basic look with some extra buildings and a raised launch platform. In reality the launch facilities would be a few miles away from the launch area but as this is only a representation…artistic license prevails.

The base is made with a piece of grey formica (mounted to a piece of 3/4″ MDF) scribed to represent concrete...

I scratch built some UFO models to use as photography subjects for my stock photography side business. The first of the three is this “captured” UFO on a stand. (Yes, it was inspired by the film “Independence Day”).
