El tipo 206 es una clase de submarinos diésel-eléctricos, su diseño se basa en la anterior clase de submarinos tipo 205. Estos submarinos pequeños y ágiles se construyeron durante la Guerra Fría para operar en mares poco profundos como el Báltico.

The type 206 is a class of diesel-electric submarine, its design is based on the previous 205 class submarines. These small, agile submarines were built during the Cold War to operate in shallow seas as the Baltic.
