I have again the honor of introducing another talent to this gallery…. artist Trevor Alderson! Showing here is his build of the Captain Cardboard V2 Studio Scale kit to be Red Leader. This piece is fantastic, from it’s build to it’s weathered markings and Death Star base! An excellent job!

This is my studio scale X-Wing resin kit, version II by Captain Cardboard, painted to resemble Red Leader with some of my own special touches added. I have installed a lighting kit from Lightbenders with flickering engine lights and fiber optics to the cockpit and droid. Laser cannons were cut off and completely rebuilt with aluminum tubing. The pilot was completely scratch built from a 3-3/4” toy figure as my model kit only contained the 1/24th scale harrier pilot with the huge helmet and oxygen mask, decals on the helmet and droid were also custom printed on my computer (other decals came from JBot). The model also has a sound card with recorded samples from the movies that is contained in the 100% scratch built ‘Death Star’ base, I also had a name plate made to give it that extra professional touch. I have a movie of the model also. Took about one year to complete but I do not have much time to devote to model building, this is about my third resin model kit.
