RIO GRANDE DANUBE CLASS RUNABOUT LEGO BUILD
The Danube-class runabout was made famous on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where it extended the reach of the station’s crew on longer missions into the Badlands and the Gamma Quadrant. Capable of Warp 4 for extended duration and supporting a crew of 2–4, the station went through many runabouts. But the one depicted here, the Rio Grande, made it all the way from the first episode to the very last. All known examples of the Danube class are named after rivers on Earth.
The mission pod is easily removable, as are the two roof sections. The aft compartment matches its appearance in the TNG episode “Timescape.” The cockpit section can also be separated to act as a lifeboat, although this was never shown on screen. Inside each of the connecting pylons you can glimpse the deflector emitter and impulse engine assembly.
Future upgrades to this model will complete the mid-sections (there are bathrooms but they are rather difficult to photograph) and potentially a complete warp assembly in the aft roof.
