This is a work-in-progress scratch-N-bash of a cross-sectioned Imperial Star Destroyer, using the hull from a Zvezda/Revell (1-2700) commercial kit as a shell. The build is based on an illustration in the Star Wars Incredible Cross-Sections book, by David West Reynolds, who I met at Wonderfest a few years back. I just love any cross-section / cut-away illustrations and builds in any genre. The shell is a bit narrower and longer than the illustration and is no particular official Star Destroyer version, but I am adjusting innards to fit as I go. I also carefully and surgically moved back both rear side notches and the port deck turret section to match more closely, and correctly align, to the illustration. Current work is designing lighting runs for fiber and engines to fit within and under the open sections. Stay tuned… as this is a multi-year labor-of-love build.
