Mike Andreadakis – STAR WARS: Rogue One – Scratch Built, Scaled Replica ~1/127 (37″/ 93.98cm) Hammerhead Corvette “Lightmaker” (Corvette FIVE)

The Hammerhead has always been one of those Star Wars ships I kept hoping someone would design a kit for. After I saw the beautiful design work of the ship on Rogue 1 I started really thinking about how to go about this. My build and design was 99% old school model building from the armature and body, down to the kit-bashed parts. The exception is the engine exhausts designed and printed by 308 Bits. I finally figured out how I wanted to begin my build when I noticed a potato cannon my son and I built out of PVC pipe sitting in my garage. I went down the rabbit hole after that. Doing this from scratch pushed my limits creatively. Lying in bed at night, trying to problem solve the next part of the build always makes me the most excited and drives me to keep going. It’s final dimensions are 37″ long, roughly 1/127 scale based on the 380 foot dimension that ILM used. All paints used were Archive-X. Thanks to all those who helped and gave me advice on how to go about this build and Kurt for featuring it on Modeler’s Miniatures & Magic. It’s one of my favorites I’ve done.
