1:24 RED 12 X-Wing by Marc Elkins for the Kuhn Global/Modeler Magic Collection

Once again we try to bring you something a bit unique that may also inspire others. Here are the blue screen photos of the Marc Elkins build of RED 12 (Replicated from the Studio Filming Model SEEN HERE). This beast was built from the 1:24 Poseidon Young offering (View the actual build HERE). Now… the Poseidon parts were made with working wing blocks for the wings to open and shut as they should, but Marc and I decided to keep the wings a bit different from most, keeping them shut. We also left out the ‘orange domed” R2 unit that would have gone with Red 12 for no specific reason. There is a very detailed interior cockpit included of which truly exists behind that dark glass I had Marc add to the piece. (I had seen dark glass added by another artist on a Capt. Cardboard X-Wing build and I wanted to see what it would look like as well). Ours came out just a bit on the dark side, making it difficult to see the nice cockpit interior and Pilot figure Marc worked so hard on. Never-the-less…. with lighting… I managed to get some of the pilot seen. Marc did fantastic work as usual. This offering is much larger than the hero X-Wings once offered by MSLZ22 Models… and even the Captain Cardboard master pattern… making it more to the same larger size as the eFX replica. It makes for a great display in the line up of them all! Thank you again Marc for your great work on this piece! I would also like to thank Poseidon Young for the wonderful creation! I LOVE IT!
For photographing this piece I used the Canon Rebel XTi. The model was photographed against the professional Blue Screen foam material created and sold by www.eefx.com . The lighting used were three (muted) 500 watt bright white (blue) bulbs.

Enjoy!
