Marko Osterholz’s 5 Foot Millennium Falcon, 32″ Replica WIP

I have always loved the 5ft Falcon, the old piece of junk. I was excited to see that the digital Millennium Falcon made for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was based on the 5ft model. Unfortunately, 5ft is quite big for a display model so I came up with the idea of building a 5ft-style Falcon in half the size – which equals 32″ (technically 30″ would be correct, but the 32″ Falcon is half the size of the 5ft model). On my Facebook-group I document ways of converting the 32″ DeAgostini model into the 5ft-look. With lots of 3D-printed donor parts, correction of saucer-shape, mandibles and jawbox. Everyone can join the experiment and decide how far one wants to go in terms of detail and authenticity.
With Tony Regidor (aka 308bits), Christian Fröhlich and Nico Möbius I have some awesome 3D-guys on board,… but it is A LOT of stuff that is needed, lots of kit bashed parts in 1/2 size and 3D-printed…
So… everyone is welcome to participate – either by building a 5ft in 32″ size or by helping with the kit parts… or even better… both!

Here are some pictures of my study model – from first steps to some progression. One picture is just to show the new “fat” look of the saucer.
