A few days ago, I had the great honor of being able to photograph Scott Alexander‘s latest build of the 5.5 Foot Discovery which now resides in the fantastic collection of Mr. Robert Fish! This stunning piece is so detailed, inside and out, that I can’t help except to be quite jealous of Robert! Scott’s paint job is precise to the original filming model used in 2001 A Space Odyssey which made it easy to match known angled shots of the Discovery model with the lighting, or rather the shadows everyone is familiar with. The Command Module interior is like looking at the actual full sized movie set the actors filmed in! The Pod itself is about the size of a U.S. Quarter Dollar Coin!!
