Building the amazing TIMESLIP CREATIONS kit is a shear joy! All of the parts are nearly perfect fitting, especially those made of resin. For this specific part, however, there had yet to be something made, which we are doing from scratch entirely. That area being… the Rec Deck, which is located on the rear starboard section of the Enterprise Refit (the area on the saucer with the squared windows). As told with the Officer’s Lounge earlier showing, we also want to match the Rec Deck  as we saw the Actors within it. Looking at capture stills from the film release, and drawings from different artists (including Dan’s) of The Motion Picture Refit, once again Dan’s WIP is looking great so far. To see the scale, he placed in a penny in one of the shots. We chose to dump the yellowish lighting, placing in instead white light for clarity. After all… the windows are small, and we want people to be able to see that depth and what is inside as much as possible. Just like the screen captures from the film, Dan will be placing Commander Decker, Ilia in her V’Ger Robe, the two security guards, and even Captain Kirk admiring the huge video screen where Kirk showed the crew V’Ger for the first time. There will also be a few crew hanging around in the seating areas, and on the balcony walkway. Because many fans are either Trek, or SW, we chose to be blasphemers in the face of all fans all over the world with our viewing screen… and what is displayed on it. I still think it a fun idea. You can enjoy both worlds after all. I do! Dan is doing amazing work with everything. He will begin on the Shuttle bay next, and then in January will build the armature and the rest of the beautiful ship. Of course we will have updates. Great job Dan!
