Kit Description: Coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the premiere of the acclaimed Duncan Jones MOON film and after almost 3 years of work, I present my first 100% handmade kit, a 1/24 scale replica of the lunar rover driven by the protagonist of the film Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell). What best tribute could be done to one of the best modern science fiction movies? The Rover from Lunar Industries Ltd. is available in all three versions that appear on the movie, plus a companion kit that replicates the Sarang lunar station’s exterior lighting towers. The models are an accurate and meticulous reproduction of the 1/12 scale miniatures that their magnificent team of artists built for the movie.
The Rover kit is made up of more than 100 pieces cast in premium quality White Smooth-On resin * except the wheels, which where made of resin from other brands, as well as extra pieces of different materials to complete the assembly. The cockpit is a thorough reproduction of the scenery used in the film, adapted to fit perfectly into the dimensions of the kit, and includes the figure of the main character with his complete equipment of astronaut. There is the option to request the instrument panel of the vehicle in clear resin for a small extra price, designed for those who want to install a lighting circuit (only one of the two pieces will be included).
The lighting tower kit contains 20 pieces of premium white and clear Smooth-On resin *, plus extra pieces of different materials to complete the assembly.
Each kit includes a complete sheet of water-based decals printed on special Bare-Metal brand paper. In order to reduce the ecological footprint and also adjust shipping costs as much as possible, a web link to the PDF instructions. (physical paper format of instructions book it would be too heavy. 1kg all included).
The quality of the production process of the model has been taken care of to the maximum: all the pieces have been reproduced in double sided molds, with a vacuum hood and pressure tank to minimize bubbles, large sprues and mold lines located in precise places, to make it easier the assembly work. Quality control is strict, with parts that do not comply being discarded.
* If there is a lack of stock of Smooth-On, some pieces could be cast in high quality resin from other brands.
