The VTOL craft was an idea I had for a long time. It began with building the two seats and then the whole craft just grew around them. Most of the model was plastic sheet, but I also used some other items such as Herasetas ( sugar substitute ) containers, and some thick brass electrical wire for the pipe work and other detail parts. The two control panels in the craft swing outwards to allow crew access. Also, the front of the model lifts when the Astronauts have an EVA to perform. The fuel tank is armored and sits in the tail of the model. It would be used for planet exploration hops and also double up as a close support vehicle when guns are added. Overall the model took two months to build and changed from day to day as the design in my head kept changing.
