In 1957, Revell did its one and only release of the XSL-01 Moon Rocket, designed by aerospace engineer Ellwyn E. Angle. In 1:96 scale, the kit became an instant classic, but didn’t sell well enough to warrant a subsequent release. In the ensuing years, parts of the mold have been lost, and Revell has said it will never re-release the kit again. As a result, unbuilt copies of the XSL-01 now sell for $500 and up on the collector’s market.

Now, Fantastic Plastic has re-interpreted Mr. Angle’s elegant design to create a 1:72 kit sci-fi fans should be able to afford.  Mastered by Scott Lowther and cast by BLAP! Models, our 58-piece kit stands an impressive 19.5″ tall and sells for just $185.00.

The kit includes a detachable Moonship Glider, a simplified launch pad/display stand with moveable arms and two ground crew figures.
