Kit Description: Our goal was to offer studio scale kits that are easy to build and do not require major sanding before assembly. This two models are made by our artist Robert Cowley. Our kits should therefore also be suitable for modeling beginners – just “easy to build”.
To this end, we have also paid special attention to the number of components. We have minimized this as far as it was reasonable. In addition, it is of course especially important to us that the kits correspond as closely as possible to the original models of I.L.M. from the STAR WARS movies. To meet all these requirements, the only option for us was to offer the kits in the form of 3D printed parts. This way we can guarantee an exceedingly high and consistent precision of our precision of our kits.
We have partners for 3D printing who currently produce the kits for us on the most modern 3D SLA systems (Stereolithography). The kits are delivered pre-primed, which also simplifies painting at this point. The development of the kit of the two “IMPERIAL PROBE PODs” was based on pictures of the original movie model. Pictures of the model used in the movie from various STAR WARS exhibitions served as reference for the 3D construction. Thus we can now offer a highly detailed 1:1 model which corresponds exactly to the film template. The kit includes both PODs with only 14 parts. This gives the ambitious modeler, as well as the beginner, the possibility to build this well known collector’s item in an easy way and at the same time an extraordinary model, and obtain an exceptionally high model authenticity.
