Based off the BLUE 12 X-Wing studio model photos (SEEN HERE), and built from the Poseidon Young offering (Available HERE), artist Marc Elkins has finished a closed wing version replica of this never seen studio X-Wing! I am completely impressed with Marc’s ‘old school’ technique… which made him perfect to take over these projects from the now retired R.L. Bleecker…who built Red Leader for this squadron. Marc finished the rest of the squadron two weeks ago of which were built from the MSLZ22 V3 parts offerings. Those are now out of production, but similar kits are available from ART2 Models (Click HERE). To show how huge the Poseidon offering is compared to the MSLZ22 Studio X-Wing offering, Marc placed the RED 6 build next to it in some shots. The Poseidon X-Wing is much different in size and detail, but is a good alternative for those who want that different look. Even though this has a beautiful cockpit interior, and an R2 unit, we did not include the R2 in this build. The dark windows were added to this bird as a test for windows that would eventually go in the MSLZ22 Studio birds that make up RED’s 1 thru 6. Marc did a masterful job… as is his usual performance. This is the first RED 12 build I am aware of. Beautifully done!
